Good sprint from Gavazzi. 71st is impressive.
Quite a lot of sprinters where affected by that last hill, Gavazzi included. Fortunately no such excuses on other days!
Gavazzi is not the greatest sprinter, but he has a decent turn of speed and won a flat stage last year. Strange therefore that it seems the game is not recognizing him as a sprinter and the team are going for the breaks.
Good to see them there but no points in that for Vespa. |

Beautiful, Santander were in top form. Now to hang on.
Excellent reporting by the way

Not bad from Bosisio. In fact, by his standards a superb performance. |

I have to be pleased that Gabriele Bosisio managed to sneak his way in to the top 10. Puzzled that Gavazzi didn't get involved in any of the sprints though.
Nevermind, Vespa have had some good results lately, so we were due a very average performance somewhere else. |

We couldn't have asked for more. 2 Stage wins, yellow jersey for a couple of days, 2nd and 4th in GC ( Wow Rodrigues ! ) and the young guys jersey.
Quite awesome for a team thats starting this year |

Great reporting (very quick too) Smowz!
My team was on par in this massive field. Impey did alright but i should probably buy him a better lead out by the looks of it, and enter him in hillier races.

Wow, I was sure that the Santander jersey was Lopez Garcia, but it's nice to get a lucky break now and then

Poor Alarcon and poor Loddo! Too bad Ryder didn't get a gap to the others at stage 6 but ninth in the GC is acceptable.

Jelejah Malaysia wrap:
I thought it might be of interest to give teams an idea of the points they have scored for this race. It highly unofficial of course, but my calculations at least give a rough idea.
Pos | Team | Points | Ratio | 1 | Bimbo Nut | 274 | 39.1 | 2 | Santander | 159 | 22.7 | 3 | El Al | 155 | 22.1 | 4 | UBS | 107 | 15.3 | 5 | Petronas | 102 | 14.6 | 6 | Pokerstars | 94 | 13.4 | 7 | Mercedes | 69 | 9.9 | 8 | Red Bull | 65 | 9.3 | 9 | Ikea | 37 | 5.3 | 10 | Pirelli | 37 | 5.3 | 11 | Unicredit | 35 | 5.0 | 12 | Vespa | 25 | 3.6 | 13 | Yamaha | 24 | 3.4 | 14 | Bbox | 5 | 0.7 | 15 | Telenor | 0 | 0.0 |
Bimbo Nutella had a superb tour, they did come here with two of their best riders in Van Avermart and Samwel. You have to add in an excellent ride for Vitor Rodrigues as well. This primes them well for the second half of the season.
Santander and El Al certainly had fruitful tours as well, with the formers crash promoted 1st position aiding their point booty and El Al's good team ride up Genting (resulting in 5 riders in the top 17). This despite neither team featuring in the 6 sprints.
In the sprints Petronas and UBS all managed one sprint win and may be slightly disappointed with the overall situation. Both sent strong squads here, probably in the expectation that the competition would not be so fierce. Pokerstars also got a much treasured stage win amongst Mohs consistent sprint excellence, no climbers of course means nothing on GC though.
Ikea and Mercedes didn't recieve a lot of luck in the last stage melee, Ikea losing a hatful thanks to Alarcons crash. Mercedes did at least keep the mountains jersey, but their race had been a slight disappointment through out other than that.
Pirelli, Red Bull and Yamaha's climber/sprinter combinations of Hesjedal/Loddo, Rodas/ Haider Anauwar and Montenegro/Impey simply were not good enough to get that much out of the race. Unicredits sprinters came good at the end but that didn't really mask the lack of climbers on Genting. Vespa may say Bosisio's performance was brilliant, but lets be honest he should have been in the first group, Gavazzi should have been sprinting but I am not sure he was good enough to get anything.
Bbox and Telenor suffered from useless sprinters who really should have done better in Brown and Greipal. With those guys failing and Diniz's last day crash the whole trip become (literelly in Telenors case) pointless. |

I can't believe how much failure Greipel is. I demand a rename of him!
