End of season 1 with Credit Agricole, and we achieved promotion to the Pro Tour along with Vacansoleil. Footon and FdJ were relegated!
UK domination of the World Champs, as Brad Wiggins wins the ITT and Cav the RR - and I'm in charge of the French team not the Brits!
Got some good new riders in along with all of my original 16, so my main leaders for next year will be:
Nic Roche (last year - 2nd Giro di Lombardia, 13th TdF, 6th GP de Plouay, 4th Paris Nice)
Igor Anton (new)
Jose Rujano (last year - KOM winner TdF) |

Currently in my second season with a custom Italian team. Had a very good first season; won the Giro, World RR and Lombardia and promoted to PT. Did some great transfers and expanded my core to Eastern-Europe as well. My new riders were: Basso, P. Velits, Gusev, Lagutin, Pozzovivo and Malacarne. I don't really like to go all big, but those rider were a good fit imo.
Now i'm at my second season. Won the Giro again and now i'm at the Tour. But now i'm struggling a bit with the transfers. Not a lot of Italians are out of contract for the next season. The best one is Scarponi. I already signed Kreuziger though, after my 3th GC man wouldn't resign. So now i'm in doubt between Schleck or Scarponi. Scarponi is very realistic, but i alaready got a man for the Giro. Schleck is like the best rider atm, but fits in a lot less than Scarponi.
Might sound stupid, but i rly can't decide. I already left Schleck alone last season, and i kinda regretted it. But my team might get to uber with him though.
Who would you go for?

Go for Scarponi, or find a really good Italian thru the u23 World rankings. Schleck is a definate no from me. I always try to be fairly realistic or else I lose motivation, because I could never see a certain team signing that rider, if I was playing as that team.

Would indeed probably be best. Not rly any good Italian in u23 atm, but i did get an awesome Kazakhian sprinter/puncheur (he won LBL, but also a lot of flat stages, so he can go either way).
Do you think the Kreuziger transfer is somewhat realistic. I just lost a young talent somewhat comparable to him, and he is from eastern-europe, so it does fit pretty well i think.
Btw, also signed F. Masciarrelli and i'm also trying to get the Efemkin brothers.

scarponi for me as well. you already have basso and now kreuziger coming in. scarponi will work well with the italian link. keep that italian backbone.
or you can do as valvarde said and look at up and coming u23 italians
best of luck

Just wanted to cheer for a moment!
Finally won my first Grand tour! I won the Giro with Gesink in front of Nibali and Basso. I feel like a little child at the moment. Because i never finished in the top ten of a Grand tour before now

Still in my first season with Sky. forgot how long this game takes
just finished the tour where Wiggins finished 9th. I was quite pleased but the sponsors wanted a top 5 finish which was always going to be a tough ask.
Had a good season so far. 22 victories (5th best total overall) including Flecha at the Tour of Flanders, Gerrans Aussie RR champs and Wiggins British RR champ. Only target left is a top 10 finish at the Vuelta where Wiggins and Lovkvist will be joint leaders.
Made some decent signings for next season. Trying to make my signings as realistic as possible by keeping the team English speaking where possible.
Cavendish
Martin
Rogers
Hesjedal
Veikkanen
and i've been in negotiations with hayden roulston but he wants to be absolute leader
are they realistic targets? I was contemplating signing Nibali to add to the Italian riders i already have but decided to go down the English speaking route instead. |

In my opinion to make sky realistic there will always have to be italian riders because thats one of sky tv biggest target areas so there will always be riders from italy. |

Difficulty:Hard
Database: Dailys 2011 preview
So i decided to start a custom career. The team is mad up from spanish and french riders. I have just finished my first season.
I did good, and we managed to get promoted.
The team captains in the first season were:
Igor Anton
Sylvain Chavanel
Juan Jose Cobo¨
The rest of the team is good all-round riders and talents. Mondory, Coppel, Intxausti, Moinard, Pardilla etc.
I competed in roughly half of the PT races.
Won two stages with Mondory in Australia.
The Tour went well, with Anton finishing 4th, after being second for ages. Lost it on the TT.
The Vuelta was a huge success for the team. Juan Jose Cobo won the race, on the last mountain stage. Benat Intxausti claimed third place, to finish it off.
For the second season JJ.Cobo has left for Movistar, and Intxausti is taking his "job", on the team.
We have signed Arkaitz Duran, Miguel Minguez, ANthony Geslin and Pierre Roland

Just started PCM again, and decided to play with Big Mat Auber. I am only in February, as I haven't played PCM for a very long time. Signed 5 riders, and I will hopefully get some good results |

Im Quickstep using the 2011 DB preview.
I have won the Santos Tour Down Under with Gerald Ciolek
I won the Tour of Qatar with Tom Boonen who has had a brilliant season so far, he also won Gent- Wevelgem and a few stage wins in the Tour of Oman and Tirreno Adriatico.
Slyvain Chavenal won the Paris- Nice a complete surprise, after been isolated on Col de Vence. He also took a few stage wins and a won a few minor races in Febraury.
Gert Steegmans has won a few minor races along with Ciolek in February and start of March.
Kevin De Weert was managing a good top 2 in the Volta a Cicliste Catalunya before dropping and finishing 12th.
Kevin Seerldraeyers finished 3rd overall in the Tirreno Adriatico and won best young rider. He rode a brilliant race.
So far so good with the classics coming up and Boonen is very good form.

Im playing as Omega Pharma Lotto and have had a decent first season.
Gilbert has won Fleche Wallone, Eneco Tour and a couple of Vuelta stages as well as placing top 3 in MSR, RvV, LBL and Paris-Nice and currently leads the ProTour standings.
Van den Broeck got 6th in the Tour (won by Contador ahead of Menchov) including a day in yellow and a stage win on the Tourmalet. Peraud also won a stage and won the KOM.
Most surprisingly, Hoste won de Ronde, although Boonen was injured and Cancellara didnt start for some reason (cant have been injured cos he won Roubaix by about 2 mins the next week).
Meanwhile Van Avermaet and Vanendert have developed a lot and could be leaders next season.
So far i've signed Sylvain Chavanel and Petacchi for next season.

After starting with my own custom team called Eurovision Cycling Team. I have enjoyed a successful year. Sponsor confidence finished on Good which gave me a nice budget to improve the team for the World Tour.
Tony Martin won Paris Nice with Nicholas Roche winning the Tour of Poland
With Gerald Ciolek injured I decided that John Degenkolb was my man for the Vettenfall Classics and he delivered edging out Cavindish in the sprint to win the famous classic at the age of 21. He and Andreas Stauff each won one stage at the Eneco Tour.
Gerald Ciolek became World Champion, pipping Vinokourov on the line, brilliant sprint timing by me.
Grand Tours:
Mikel Nieve was our man for the Giro, which was won by Michele Scarponi. Neve finished inside the top 20.
Andy Schleck won the Tour de France, as Contador crashed out. We had Rein Taaramae 6th overall and 2nd in best young rider and Nicholas Roche 7th overall after been in the top 4 until the final TT. We also taken 2 stage wins with Gerald Ciolek.
The Vuelta was won the Juan Jose Cobo, big surprise win. We decided not to participate in the Vuelta instead choosing the Tour of Britain which Ciolek finished 2nd overall and Efimkin finished 4th overall.
We won plenty of smaller races I will mention when I upload the save for people to enjoy.
Now I am in 2012, I have released 2 riders, Dale Appleby and Matthais Brandle. Vladimir Efimkin also left the team. We brought in Peter Sagan, Sachsa Modolo, Luke Rowe, Andrei Ovechkin Ignatas Konoloaves, is all I can remember for now.
I am enjoying this career and will update the Transfers when I finish college.

I am onto my third season with a custom team. Been steadily improving since the beginning.
First Season Leaders: Deignan and Danny Pate, a couple of sttage wins and good GC placings for the two leaders. I failed to re-sign Pate
Sesaon 2: Brought in Coen Vermelfoort and Gorik Gardeyn to bring in a more balanced team that could compete in the classics and sprints. Vermelfoort had an excellent season finishng second in the continental rakings. Deignan won in Oman and was second in Turkey and Austria. Tean finished 8th in the continental rankings
Season 3: Just beginning, i have signed Liuwe Westra and Pierre Rolland as well as some support riders. I am a bit worried that I have not enough good teammates. Only a couple of them (Mahoric, Gradeyn) can compete in the bigger races.
I am trying to keep the team balanced in terms of disciplines and still have 8 Irish riders- Deignan is very good and Irvine is 75 in TT.
Still think I dont have enougn talent to get promoted but I will try to rcae as many HC races as I can to maximise points.
I should say this is definitel;y the longest career I have ever had and I hvae played every stage except TTs

I'm soon finished with my 3rd season with my custom team (made in the db, not the game) One HD - ASUS. After a season in the continental tour, I was promoted, and signed with Kreuziger, Popovych, Goss and Davis, as well as some other riders. This season the team was joined by Boonen, Gadret, Bonnet and Silin, as well as some others. What I want to write about is the main transfers of 2014 as of September 2013, because that's what I find the most interesting to read about from others.
To AG2R comes: Vaugrenard from FDJ and C.A.Sørensen from Specialized
To Cyclingteam Jo Piels: Lars Boom from Rabobank
To FDJ: R.Feillu from Vacansoleil
To Farnese Vini: Vanendert from Omega Pharma
To Geox: Kolobnev from Leopard
To HTC: Van Summeren from Team CSC - Cervelo
To Katusha: Michael Matthews from Astana
To Air France: Le Mevel from Sky
To Lampre: Gesink from Katusha
To Leopard: Roche from AG2R, Greipel from Omega Pharma, Kirchen from Astana and Hushovd from Team CSC - Cervelo
To Liquigas: J.Rodriguez from Katusha
To One HD: A.Schleck and Fuglsang from Leopard, Cancellara from Quickstep, Porte and Gerrans from Specialized
To Quickstep: Boonen from One HD, Meersman from FDJ
To Rabo Conti: World Champion Kroon from Leopard
To Rabobank: Menchov from Leopard and Maaskant from Team CSC - Cervelo
To Rapha Condor: G.Thomas from One HD
To Sky: Efimkin from Leopard
To Specialized: Rojas from Movistar and Hesjedal from Team CSC - Cervelo
To CSC - Cervelo: Machado from Radioschack
To Eddy Merckx: Tony Martin from HTC
To Europcar: Ciolek from quickstep and Albasini from HTC
To NetApp: Mosquera from Radioschack
To Readioschack: Scarponi from Lampre, Zabriskie from CSC - Cervelo and Wiggins from Sky
To Voralberg: L.L.Sanchez from Radioschack
To Thüringer: Voigt from Leopard and Rosseler from Radioschack
To Topsport: Hoste from Katusha and Leukemans from Vacansoleil
To Vacansoleil: Gilbert from Omega Pharma
Best riders on the pro tour teams:
AG2R: Roche (leaving), Koldo Fernandez
FDJ: Sulzberger, Vaugrenard (leaving), Chainel (leaving)
HTC: Cunego, Haussler, Cavendish
Katusha: Pozzato, Gesink (leaving)
Lampre: Nibali, Ballan'
Leopard: A.Schleck (Leaving), F.Schleck
Liquigas: Boasson Hagen, P.Sagan
Movistar: Rojas (Leaving)
Omega Pharma: Gilbert (Leaving), Greipel (Leaving), Vanendert (Leaving)
One HD: Boonen (Leaving), Kreuziger, Goss, Viljoen, Davis
Astana: Matthews (Leaving), Taaramaë
Quickstep: Cancellara (Leaving), Anton, Ciolek (Leaving)
Rabobank: Breschel
Sky: Ricco, Swift
Specialized Sungard: Contador, Neyens
CSC - Cervelo: Farrar, Van Summeren (Leaving)
Radioschack: Machado (Leaving)
Vacansoleil: Valverde, Devolder
And that's pretty much it. I like the fact than LLSanchez switches to Voralberg, and that Tony Martin leaves the World Tour (leaving Cancellara the best TT'er there) |

Another fun fact: The game somehow copied the young rider Danny Viljoen, so that I had one, and HTC had one. I couldn't help myself but into the db, change the name of the one, raising their potential one (from 6 to 7), and their max stats a bit. Then I signed the other one, So I have Danny and Daniel Viljoen on my team next season, how awesome to have identical twins on the team?!?!?
Also, Nibali was second in the 2012 tour, but crashed literally 3.5 km from the finish on champs ellysees, and had to quit. He became second in 2013 though.

The beginning of a custom career, I want to start with their stories, but if there is no tomorrow I want to go back and choose again the same driver. I like to take the extra 20 minutes.
