Well I'm happy that Serpa could "win" the fourth place after beating Ricco to it and to end just outside top 10 of the TT was a small surprise. If I remember correctly then Ricco will anticipate in Trentino, so he is one of the guys to beat for Serpa.

10 seconds on the TT, and this time no one will interfere in the mountains , will be a great duel.

Yes we should expect some fireworks since it's a much harder route than this one!

I feel your pain Kami here, stage one certainly did not go as expected.
Big big win for Petronas, really gets them up there I would imagine with the top teams in terms of points per race day. Probably neck and neck for them and Ikea for the points lead at the moment. Though Ikea will no doubt pull away in the next couple of races.
I really didn't pick the success of Mercedes... they have surprised me... they are really going well. Very few race days wasted.
A quiet race for UBS following their big Langkawi win and another real anonymous showing from Santander. Those two will be hoping for much much more from Castille y Leon. |

Not sure about Trentino though happy to hear Serpa and Ricco are there. I suspect Alarcon (Ikea) and at least those Sport Lisboa climbers (Nazeret or more likely Marquez) will be there.
Also I would guess wiggo will unleash the Pellizotti with no TT to trouble him!
But yeah it's definately a nasty little route |

There is a TT in Trentino. And quite a big one - 17 km

Not that it matters re: Pellizotti.
For reasons only known to Wiggo, Pellizotti rides only 3 CT races this season, and its a long time before even the 1st of them

Just 3 races... that could be a way to waste a great climber. One of them should be Colombia or America though since those take a lot of his race days and he wouldn't be able to ride too many races.

Tour of America I bet, since he got a top 10 goal in that race

Correct, where he rides alongside Anton, Niemiec and Ochoa Q. I dont think achieving the goal will be any problem.

I'm prolly not the right to talk, but dosen't that smell alot like a waste of racedays? Ok, he might get 1-2-3-4 (I have no idea who else goes there). For his sake I hope he proves me wrong.

Oops missed the opener was a TT! Yeah in that case surely Serpa vs Ricco, maybe one of those Benfica ones Krasnoperov or Marquez can challenge.
Tour of America well I am sending one of my stars Siutsou... and Tinkoff have indicated they are sending Petrov. So it maybe will not be a complete Youtube fest. (But Pellizotti will surely be by far the strongest rider). But I was suspecting as much, when I had not seen Pellizotti so far. I think there are only going to be a couple of other teams in that race (Pirelli and Quiksilver namely).
So for my squad the Tour of America is more about gathering stage wins for one of my goals. |

Pleased with Mercedes-Benz here. Sinner winning that 2nd stage would have been nice though. Good haul from my boys.

Great race. Evans just not good enough in the end, but i'll take second in that field anyday! |
