Best rider: Dennis Menchov - This man will without any doubt end on the podium!
Best stage: Arenberg
Best team: Astana - I have been surprised that they turned out to have the best "supporting" team in the mountains for their captain.

Worst rider: Barredo for his stupid wheel attack, he should had been sent out of the race.
Worst stage: Spa - do to the crash and Cancellaras decision to neutralize everything, even when the Schleck's had returned to the peloton.
Worst team: I've been pretty disappointed about Liquigas.

Bonus awards! Non then :b
Most boring team: BMC - They haven't done anything since Evans lost the yellow jersey.
Stupid decision of the week: Contador attacking after seeing Schleck suffer from his chain problem.

Hey Doddy. Can you create a topic for the next stage? I would like to discuss it, and I don't think this topic is appropriate Smile

Doddy, if you think Lance was dropped every day, you haven't been watching as closely as I have Wink

Whilst he realised he wouldn't be able to win the Tour overall after all those crashes, he also knows he wouldn't be allowed to go for a stage win (like today) if he was only 15 minutes down. He needed to lose more time, and why waste energy for a top 25 placing? Pretty pointless for him.

The question is, is he strong enough to win the Tourmalet stage, or the final TT?

No, that's why he tried for todays stage, as did half the peloton. It had breakaway written all over it.

Best rider: Probably Van Den Broeck, didn't expected him to be so confident in Pyrenees
Best stage: stage 12 to Mende/ Madeleine stage
Best team: Bbox, just for last two stages

Worst rider: Armstrong, i think he should abandoned after stage 8 (and todays stage doesn't proved anything to me)
Worst stage: there isn't definite stage i really didnt like, maybe stage 10 only
Worst team: Milram, they cannot sprint, they cannot climb and most important i havent seen them in any breakaway

Bonus awards!
Most boring team: there are many: Sky, BMC, Liquigas, Milram
Stupid decision of the week: Ciolek made pretty nice lead-out for Hushovd (maybe its a sign that he will ride for Cervelo next year)

FreitasPCM
Best rider: Thomas Voeckler

Best team: Bouygues

Worst rider: Brad Wiggins
Worst stage: Stage 10

2nd week awards
Best rider: Sanchez has consistently impressed me this week. Also Hesjedal.
Best stage: Stage 8 to Morzine-Avoriaz
Best team: BBox are having the Tour of their lives.

Worst rider: Evans. Given that he is injured this may not be justified, but still he has been disappointing. Rogers would also qualify here.
Worst stage: Stage 16 to Pau, or Stage 2. The former for being the potential for an epic battle, but a stupid choice by the organisers. The latter because the ending was a let-down.
Worst team: Sky. No doubt.

Bonus awards!
Most boring team: Liquigas - a strong team that has done nothing at all.
Stupid decision of the week: Contador accelerating past Schleck.

Oh wow. Settle down mate... You don't deserve a well-worded and calm response after calling me a tool, a jerk and repeatedly attacking me, but regardless...

Evans has been riding far worse than I was expected of him, so relative to that, I think he has had a poor ride. He rode a fantastic Giro and has had a great season, and I even said in my post that it may not be justified. As such relative to expectations (which is how we should always determine quality), I would say he has performed extremely poorly. I really quite like Evans and wish he had done better, but that's not going to cloud my judgement. Feel free to disagree but lay off the personal attacks.

And so what if I'm Australian? Why should that make a difference to anything?
