I reckon it will be a damp squib, I also appreciate the leaving out of the colon in the topic title so we can see what stage it is.

I hope they will actually race tomorrow, so we will see a battle for the stage win between riders who have a strong finish and the cobbles. It would be awesome if the race turned out like something as the stage Evans won in the giro, where GT contenders like Basso and Nibali lost quite some time and had to attack later in the race to earn it back. I actually hope that Armstrong can take a minute or two together on Contador together with some of the other GT contenders. Then we might see a brilliant stage with Morzine-Avoriaz as the first major battle for the overall win!
I'm also crossing fingers for Sastre, Gesink and Menchov will not be losing time tomorrow, since they defiantly would had been able to get some precious time today from many of the big guns. The neutralizing might have a big outcome for their chances for a podium spot in Paris.

It's Vande Velde who won't start tomorrow. It seems that Farrar's injuries weren't as bad as expected, so he'll go on, as he has nothing broken.

If a favourite crash today...What will happen? They wait for him?
I am curious what will make Saxo if this happens...

They won't wait. This is a stage that they will be expecting falls and I doubt that they are interested in waiting for the other leaders if they get caught in some trouble |

roadside bike changes have been disallowed today. Spare bikes have to be from the team car, which as we know on cobbled classics could be minutes behind.

They can still borrow a team mates bike, though?
This could cause some big time gaps... |

Or not. Flecha said that it isn't necessary to change bikes for today's stage. |

I think this stage will be advantage Armstrong in the GC, but also possibly the Schlecks, as they have arguably the best cobbleriders as teammates in Cancellara, O'Grady and Breschel.
As mentioned by someone else, i hope Contador loses some time on this stage, so he has to attack more later, which will make this Tour more interesting. If he does survive today, he is in to good a position too not lose without a fall later in the Tour.
If children have the ability to ignore all odds and percentages, then maybe we can all learn from them. When you think about it, what other choice is there but to hope? We have two options, medically and emotionally: give up, or Fight Like Hell.

Wiggins could go well with flecha on his side as well. it will either be very interesting or very dull. and to cover myself it could be average as well.

I would bet at Cancellara if he could, but maybe Thor will take it?
Edit: What does the starts at the first post mean? difficulty?

I think so, but the difficult part today could be controlling the race... I donĀ“t think Sprinters teams will help with that, and it could be to o much work for Saxo, thinking in helping Andy in such a long tour.
Yes the stars means difficulty. |
