Although i have a b-team here, without any of my big names, i did expect Gajek to atleast sprint or something.
Without checking, isnt Gajek crap on hills? All the flat stages here have some form of bumps on, that will tire out to an extent the sprinters with poor hill stats

Haha, don't worry, first priority when lying in my bed at home will be to report the stages, but I have to get through tomorrow first
Yeah, sorry bout not putting up a stage today, didn't end up having time to do so.

Well yea, but Nazon is the same and he sprinted in Algarve and even won a stage. Might be more lucky with Gajek on the last 2 stages.

Loddo you fat pierce of sh** please learn how to stay with the peloton please. Bernucci managed to get a decent sprint finish, but a top 10 overall GC spot seems to have gone.
Good reporting rjc!

some bonus seconds is nice although I fear Kolobnev may have sown this one up.

I should imagine a small group of favourites will contest the next one. It will depend on who's in it to form the GC. Though Ponzi is going to need quite a lot of bonifications to overtake Kolobnev he looks set for a good finish.
One guy who will not be in it will be Ginanni, Vespa really not having a very happy start to the season. I suppose this race is really just a 'warm-up' to the hilly classics for them (I know they do not exist in the Man Game!). But hopes would have been high for a good placing...
Great to see you back, safe and sound rjc!

Shite - that's exactly how I thought that stage was going to be won. No other comment from me. |

good stage. my team is generally crap so 3 in the lead group and two in GC contention is great. I hope vorganove and cherel make some sneaky marginal gains now.

Interesting, worked out how I would have imagined if not in the way I would have imagined!
Ponzi is proving a bit of a hilly sprinting monster at the moment. It's either him or Kolobnev for the overall win but Ponzi may well outscore the Russian anyway. We currently have a tie from 6th to 15th in terms of countback so the next couple of stages positions could prove vital.
The current countback (combined stage positions) is as follows:
6th Gaspa = 42
7th Proni = 61
8th Nocentini = 63
9th Cheula = 70
10th Rovny = 75
11th Cherel = 80
12th Pasamontes = 90
13th Bernucci = 99
14th Vorgonov = 110
15th Matt Lloyd = 116 |
