This is beginning to really suck, not even someone in the breaks yet. Only one top 10 spot so far, and it was from Kirchen. Then there was the split which made my 2 captains lose time ...
I really hope something good happens on the last stage. Perget is my best placed rider who might be able to do good on the last stage.

Great stage once again by Bernucci, I'm happy that the team haven't been outside the 10 best riders in any stage except the TTT.

It is odd for him to win the KoM, and yet be 2 minutes down 4 minutes later. But I didnt notice a puncture or crash, so I imagine he effectively sat up - already being 3 minutes down in GC, and not the team leader on the hills anyay.

Split and a bad TTT, this race doesn't go our way. Nice win by Giaux though.

I hope this is our worst race this season. Not much to be happy about just Decouttere´s KoM jersey for 2 days. Why is Jacopo Guarnieri so bad in every stage? with 77 in sprint and 75 in average stats he should do better then ca. 30. |

Its a bit optimistic expecting a 77 sprint rider to do consistently well - particularly in a HC race

He would be a great leadout-man, but next season he will be a consistant top 5-10 sprinter I reckon. This season is too early though.

I don´t expect him to win all stages direct, but atleast one top 10 or 15 result. Now his best is a 33th place.. |

Despite sending Chavanel and Calzati, all I have to show for is the Calzati attack and a couple of KOM sprints.
[sarcasm]Basically this is going great.[/sarcasm] |

Well that he isn't maxed out yet doesn't mean that he won't be consistant next year
Will he be 79 or 80 sprint? And with and AVR of 76 or so he should be pretty consistent in the CT, if he is placed in the right races.

That opening stage split really has messed a number of team plans up. The Tour Down Under was similar in that things just simply did not go to plan with crashes and weak sprinting displays.
Looking at the GC it is going great for Tinkoff and Mercedes at the moment. I sense danger lurking on the Mount Faron stage at the end.
Monfort a 45 (79 Hill)
Schumacher a 1.02 (80 Hill)
are the stand out threats, but it will depend on how the cards are played.
Perget a 46 (72 Hill)
Feillu a 49 (68 Hill)
Ladagnous a 41 (69 Hill)
are French and so know the terrain.
Meanwhile most of the riders highly placed in the top 10 apart from race leader Markov (60 Hill) and 8th Holloway (65 Hill) can reasonably expect to battle up the last climb of the race. Though it will depend on team tactics.
I note that several teams are facing the prospect of a really barren race here - CT leaders Sport Lisboa for example.
