If it makes you feel better (though probably not) Sonoma and Marin County (where the video was shot) has some really shitty road surfaces, which is largely true for most of California. Over the border in Oregon at Nationals the road surfaces were pretty much perfect.
There are problems, particularly in the town Cozza lives in, with drivers. Ryan Eastman sums it up with "All of the pick-up trucks are driven by rednecks who try to run you off the road, and everybody has a pickup."
We don't have a perfect situation, but it's pretty close

The Pro Continental licenses have been handed out.....
now Lampre don't have neither a ProTour license, nor a Pro Continental license.
And Savio's dopeh....I mean riders don't either....same for Xacobeo.

While that is a surprise, I also noticed the Brazilian team Scott - Marcondes César Sao José dos Campos. Now, that I hadn't seen coming. |

Do they have any known riders or great results or what's the point in giving them the license?
And what's up with Lampre? Did I miss something? |

I'm astonished that they have the license. They have decent riders, but no good ones. Medici would be the best, but even he's a bit iffy.
They do have the paralympic gold medallist in the (non-paralympic) road team, though. Which is a nice novelty.

Xacobeo lacks a bank guarantee, or so they say. They say that all is gonna be solved in the next hours. About Lampre, I'm just impressed, I don't know what's happening there. |

That really depends wheter you are going by generally good of Continental good. While i dont claim to be an expert on south american cycling vs the world, Medici personally could be an excellent lieutenant for a ProConti team with mountain ambitions.

Three words, Cun e go. Isso can give you a better rundown, but him and valverde get paid loads more than everyone other than Armstrong and, with his new contract, Contador. My guess is the money finally caught up to them. |

I still believe they'll be a pro tour team next year... i thought i heard somewhere they were talking to the UCI about the part of the application form that was rejected.

Remember when Astarloza tested positive? Remember how the team defended him saying they too have internal controls and they showed nothing?
I'm not sure anyone was dumb enough to believe them, but they sure are dumb enough to forget that they gave that excuse.....
....they've announced that they'll start having internal controls.
Are you talking nonsense on purpose or what?
What they actually stated was the following:
- Last year, they tested 700 times on 23 riders.
- They suspended Landaluze 3 weeks before the UCI busted him.
- They didn't find anything strange with Astarloza.
For next season they state:
- An enhanced version of their internal control system
- Enhanced, because it seems they didn't get an eye on everyone at anytime.
I am afraid that this will cost a good part of their (not too big) budget for next year. But they're doing it because they want to show their determination for a clean team.
And all you can come up with is lies. I assume you read the entire article (because you posted the link on cyclingnews.com), but only picked the things that you thought would be interesting for another post of South European cycling bashing it seems.
I mean, all the guys, and you in particular, are shouting and screaming for clean cycling for years. Now some teams are reacting to this demand from the public and all you can come up with is this?
I am sorry, but I don't get it. Somehow I get the feeling that the only thing you want to do is keep bashing cycling no matter what is happening. |

Actually, Basso's going to ride the Tour, along with the Giro. Liquigas has announced who will be their big guns in the main races.
In the Giro, Pellizotti and Basso.
In the Tour, their four leaders, Basso, Pellizotti, Kreuziger and Nibali.
And, for la Vuelta, Kreuziger and Nibali.
They really want to win le Tour. I'm not sure it will work correctly, to much leader in one team

False. They hadn't an internal control program, you misunderstood the article. When Glez. de Galdeano says that their riders were tested (by the UCI) 700 times, he doesn't say that they tested the riders. The only one who is lying here (unintentionally I think) is you. |

Maybe that's in total, but they did have internal controls. They stated that from the start of the season onwards and made use of it, I cannot repeat that enough, in the Landaluze case. |

Nothing in the article confirms that they had an internal program in 2009. Sanchez' comment says it all:
"There are already very comprehensive programs such as the Anti-Doping Administration and Management System (ADAMS) [an online system that incorporates athletes' whereabouts information – ed], but all teams want their own data and I understand that."
Apparently, Euskaltel didn't have its own data in 2009 - but yes, of course they were subject to testing from UCI and Spanish authorities. |
