It is a young team that will become OP in the future. But as this is designed as a 1-2 season career i don't mind.
Bang this out while i enjoy the Giro before i go back to Story Careers

It's okay then, I thought you had some long plans with it.

Nah! 90% of my Careers are 1-2 seasons as thats where i get the most fun. The game just doesn't work well enough to keep me properly invested in the long term. Occasional long ones work but i have to put some work into setting them up (Stories and Customised DBs)

And I win the Vuelta with Quintana, and points, KOM, young riders and Best team. So I win all 3 GT's and Quintana is leaving my team at the end of the season gutted!

Kreuziger doesn't want to stay with Saxo for next season it would seem. After offering 70000(what he wanted) he turned it down. Offered 80k same result and now 90k that he turned down. I'll try sign Kwiatkowski to replace him. |

Well that career might not last long
Paris-Nice Stage 1 - Uran crashes out, broken skull, May return
Paris-Nice Stage 2 - Bauer crashes out, broken leg, May return
Tirreno-Adriatico Stage 1 - Quintana crashes out, broken spine, End May return
Tirreno-Adriatico Stage 4 - Malori crashes out, broken arm, May return
F*ck that! Probably gonna start something new later today, might try something Dutch or Belgian

I have just started a Danish custom team career. Team Procom.
Leaders:
Fuglsang
Breschel
Swift
Also have:
Fenn
McEvoy
Bak
CA Sorensen
N Sorensen
Morkov
Hansen
Rasmussen
Quuade
Adam Yates
Simon Yates
Lander
Mullen
to name a few
Not been a brilliant start so far, got top 5 at San Luis with Fuglang and top 5 in Besseges with Bak.
Although Fuglang has just crashed out of Mallorca on stage 1, Adam Yates will now go for the overall.

A final pre-tour update:
Dauphiné: 1 stage win with Kruopis, Froome wins overall
Suisse: Weening 20th GC, Nibali won
NCs:
Victory in: Czech Republic (König), Canada (Meier). Yeah, quite disappointing.
For the Tour, I aim on a stage win with the following 9:
Albasini
Davis
Goss
Impey
Howard
Langeveld
Keukeleire
Tuft
Weening
I think that isn't impossible.

TDF - had a 10 minute lead at one point (and my team mate as well), but some attacking pre the final TT meant I only won by 4mins from Contador
also love when you're prepping for a GT and the rider crashes out (Sanchez in the Giro, and Anton in the PortugalTour)

Restarted with Giant Shimano following that italian disaster... Currently at Stage 2 of Tirreno, and only Stamsnijder is injured so i'm good to continue. It's a different sort of team to play with. Outside of Kittel and Degenkolb there's not much to expect, yet enough quality to give real outside chances of results.
Degenkolb has been regularly Top10 in warm up classics, and taking a few wins here and there. Kittel took 7 stage wins from Qatar and Oman combined, along with 2 points jerseys and a GC win.
Dumoulin was 6th in TDU, 5th in Algarve and is currently riding well in Paris-Nice. Geschke has grabbed some Top10's as is in Tirreno. Mezgec with plenty of top10's supporting Kittel. Barguil also going strongly with a variety of solid results.
It's a pretty fun team to use. Going to be losing about 5 riders i think, so also got a lot of room to improve and customize the squad

Career Lampre / Game opinion
So, after buying the game, and after the Tour de France I can say that I do really enjoy the game, graphics and the amazing database from PCM Daily.
I play on hard, and got great results, like winning Down Under, Algarve, Mallorca, Paris Nice etc.
On GT I made a 2nd place with Horner in Italy, at 5 minutes from a outstanding Nibali... but the greatest result was winning TdF with Costa.
On early stages on a hilly finish, made an attack and ended with Henao, so for the next stages Froome was somehow working for his teammate... and on the first mountain stages I only lost time to Kreuziger... and so Contador also was then a bit a team mate... and didn't gain me any time... only loosing like Froome.
Then got to the final time trial and Costa won with about 1.30 min from 2nd place his teammate Niemiec... so, this is like a problem and a bit unrealistic... in time trials with hills in the middle always got amazing results...
In the final stages the dot was my friend, and I managed to loose short time... one day 1.20 to Kreuziger... other 1.20 to Contador, and on the final climb stage only 40 sec...!
Got the tour with like 50 sec from Contador and 1.20 from Kreuziger... thanks to the time trial where Contador, Kreuziger etc lost 1.40...
So... it's a great game, but still there are things that can help us to get anormal results when playing... like winning TdF with Costa )))
Also a bit disappointed with how the AI managed the form from the other riders...
Quintana won the U25 but lost about 8 min... never saw him in front like Rodrigues also very far... but in Dauphine they were unreachable...
So the TdF was Costa... Kreuziger and Contador... too short.

I've been playing around with my Polish WT team (Nerz the only foreigner) and either something is messed up with my difficulty settings, or the game is way easier than PCM11. I usually play on hard switching to 1,35 or 1,4 difficulty setting with strong teams.
Thing is that except for Majka, Kwiato and Niemiec my team is pretty average and definitely lacks even half-decent MO helpers. I've signed Nerz only because Niemiec started degrading and needed at least one good supporter for Grand Tours. Still - with hard setting and that team I would expect some good results but not like these.
2014 went pretty normal: wins in Vuelta and TdP with Kwiato (thanks to good fitness plan) except maybe for the 4th place in WC, a race in which I've always been bad.
Then in 2015 all hell broke lose:
Kwiato won Gent-Wevelgem in his first start of the season
Then he has claimed also Pais Vasco and Amstel Gold.
Majka did a very decent Giro finishing second - even though he has lost over 10 minutes to Froome.
Kwiato came back to win Suisse and Tour de France (lots of cobbles to be fair. Contador crashed at Roubaix and lost over 6 minutes on that stage, while Froome was definitely feeling the Giro in his legs - both lost over 8 minutes to Kwiato in GC and the fight was against Quintana +3 minutes and Uran +6 minutes). BTW - Puy de Dome stage was simply brillant - +rep for the designer.
Finally and most unexpectedly:
1. Maciej Bodnar made a successful last 10km attack at Valkenburg to win Eneco by 30 seconds
2. In the last 8km of Vattenfall my "sprint train" consisting of Kamil Zieliński, Domink Nerz and Maciej Paterski broke from the pack (with almost no wind) to claim the whole podium
Currently after 4 stages of Vuelta (incl. Sierra Nevada) Kwiato is just behind Porte, Conta and Betancur with everyone else already trailing by over 1 minute. All that having lost 1:30 in TTT.
It's fun to achieve such results, but could have been more difficult. Wondering how much will my ass hurt on extreme...
And one more interesting observation - in 2015 ther is a tough battle for remaining in World Tour. Toughest I've ever seen, since usually there have been 3 teams trying to avoid relegation, getting no results at all and everything was decided before Vuelta started. It was just like that in 2014 when FDJ and Europcar got relegated.
In 2015 there are 7 teams (sic!) trying to avoid relegation - all have between 270-370 points and score from time to time:
AG2R
Garmin
Tinkoff-Saxo
Lampre
Cannondale
Lotto
Orica
Very enjoyable fight to watch. And it looks like it may go on until Beijing. |
