Its bad news for us at the moment, on the descent of the first major climb our sprinter Alexander Serebryakov fell and is now being paced back on by the majority of our squad. He is currently over eight minutes behind the peleton

With only two of our riders left in the peleton, Joey Rosskopf decides to go out alone and see what he can achieve

It wasn't long though before he was passed by these five escapees, Fairly/Spidertech, Frank/BMC Racing, Williams/Competitive Cyclist, Atkins/Bontrager Livestrong and Driscoll/Jamis Sutter Home

Everything is all back together again, but riders are still wanting to break away, Jacques-Maynes of Kenda 5 Hour Energy is the latest to try his luck

Four riders attacked over the top of the first category climb of Independence Pass and have opened up a decent sized lead, they are Mannion/Bontrager Livestrong, Frank/BMC Racing, Jacques-Maynes/Kenda 5 Hour Energy and Fairly/Spidertech

There lead is 1m 26s

With five kilometres to go they still have 1m 17s

The sprint is off as we reach the red kite, one of these rider will be pulling on the leaders jersey tonight

Well today was just disastrous for us, when Alexander fell on the descent of the First Category climb, we knew we had to wait for him and try and pace him back into the race, but that has totally left the guys with no energy, so all we can do now in this race is ride for pride

Alex Bowden is the first of our riders to finish

Closely followed by Sergio Hernandez of Jelly Belly

Ben Day of UnitedHealthcare would become the early leader with a time of 26m 07s for the 16km course

He wouldn't be on top for long as Peter Stetina of Garmin-Sharp betters his time by 31s

Ben Jacques-Mayne of Bissell Cycling just misses out by 7s

As does Nathan Brown of Bontrager

And Kohler of BMC Racing

Time trial specialist Tom Zirbel of Team Optum would finish the day in 5th place

Ryder Hesjedal of Garmin comes in with 25m 9s which he thought was good enough for the win

But Tejay Van Garderen would win the day with a time of 25m 4s

One word - Disappointment

With a lead of over four minutes, these six riders have been given there freedom, they include Ratcliff/Chipotle First Solar, Keogh/Team Exergy, Hamilton/Jelly Belly Cycling, Driscoll/Jamis Sutter Home, Clark/BMC Hincapie and House/Competitive Cyclist

They have managed to extend there lead to over five and a half minutes

Garmin Sharp have come to the front of the pack to try and reduce the gap to the leaders

The latest time check is 3m 14s, so Garmin's work is beginning to pay off

1m 21s left of the lead, it looks like the peleton want to reel them in sooner rather than later

Race leader Hesjedal is glad that the work of his team have got the break back to within thirty seconds

With the riders getting nervous as the finish gets closer, a touch of wheels in the middle of the bunch takes down several riders

With five kilometres remaining William Dugan of Team Type 1 takes a flyer down the right side of the road as the day's break finally surrenders

He has just fifteen second at the red kite

It was a brave attack but unfortunately Keough of UnitedHealthcare beats him to the line and to the win

Well i am much happier with the performance from the guys today.
It was a brave effort from Dugan at the end but he just couldn't hold on

Mannion/Bontrager Livestrong, Stemper/Kenda 5 Hour Energy and Ratcliff/Chipotle First Solar are just off the front of the pack with a slight advantage

Garmin Sharp are in total control at the front of the race as they protect there race leader Ryder Hesjedal

First and second in the Mountains Competition Lemus of Jelly Belly Cycling and El Fares of Team Type 1 have come to the front of proceedings to keep a close eye on each other with mountain points coming soon

There has been absolutely nothing to report on as the peleton has stayed together for most of todays stage

Joey Rosskopf of Team Type 1 is setting a brutal pace at the front as he tries to deliver his team mate El Fares to more mountain points

Second placed on GC Tejay Van Garderen/BMC Racing attacked at the top of the climb of Swan Mountain and took three other riders with him along for the ride, they were Serebryakov/Team Type 1, Beyer/Competitive Cyclist and Brown/Bontrager Livestrong

All they have is just 15s

Beyer/Competitive Cyclist goes in to the final kilometre with 10s in hand

He times his move to perfection to grab the win
