Stage 3 – Gunnison – Aspen – 210.2km

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/071-USA%20PRO%20CYCLING%20CHALLENGE/PIC-292-PROFILE-USAPROCYCLINGCHALLENGE-STAGE3_zpsacda45f5.jpg

THE STAGE

SPRINT – House/Competitive Cyclist

MOUNTAIN – Lemus/Jelly Belly Cycling

MOUNTAIN – El Fares/Team Type 1

SPRINT – Rodriguez/Team Exergy

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-100KM.jpg

Its bad news for us at the moment, on the descent of the first major climb our sprinter Alexander Serebryakov fell and is now being paced back on by the majority of our squad. He is currently over eight minutes behind the peleton

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/071-USA%20PRO%20CYCLING%20CHALLENGE/071-3-PIC1_zps8afcd1b5.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-80KM.jpg

With only two of our riders left in the peleton, Joey Rosskopf decides to go out alone and see what he can achieve

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/071-USA%20PRO%20CYCLING%20CHALLENGE/071-3-PIC2_zps0e9190e4.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-60KM.jpg

It wasn't long though before he was passed by these five escapees, Fairly/Spidertech, Frank/BMC Racing, Williams/Competitive Cyclist, Atkins/Bontrager Livestrong and Driscoll/Jamis Sutter Home

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/071-USA%20PRO%20CYCLING%20CHALLENGE/071-3-PIC3_zpsfa258595.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-40KM.jpg

Everything is all back together again, but riders are still wanting to break away, Jacques-Maynes of Kenda 5 Hour Energy is the latest to try his luck

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/071-USA%20PRO%20CYCLING%20CHALLENGE/071-3-PIC4_zps59896932.jpg

MOUNTAIN – Frank/BMC Racing

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-20KM.jpg

Four riders attacked over the top of the first category climb of Independence Pass and have opened up a decent sized lead, they are Mannion/Bontrager Livestrong, Frank/BMC Racing, Jacques-Maynes/Kenda 5 Hour Energy and Fairly/Spidertech

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/071-USA%20PRO%20CYCLING%20CHALLENGE/071-3-PIC5_zps9c0db7f4.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-10KM.jpg

There lead is 1m 26s

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/071-USA%20PRO%20CYCLING%20CHALLENGE/071-3-PIC6_zpsae790757.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-5KM.jpg

With five kilometres to go they still have 1m 17s

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/071-USA%20PRO%20CYCLING%20CHALLENGE/071-3-PIC7_zpsee6482a1.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/TOGO-1KM.jpg

The sprint is off as we reach the red kite, one of these rider will be pulling on the leaders jersey tonight

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/071-USA%20PRO%20CYCLING%20CHALLENGE/071-3-PIC8_zpsd5c3aa66.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/STORY%20SYMBOLS/checkeredflag1.gif

And its Caleb Fairly of Spidertech who will be that man

Well today was just disastrous for us, when Alexander fell on the descent of the First Category climb, we knew we had to wait for him and try and pace him back into the race, but that has totally left the guys with no energy, so all we can do now in this race is ride for pride
