Its like a Grasshopper. Small, noisy with a tough exoskeleton. Commonly found in long grasses
Its also one of the biggest sports in the world, with almost as many insane rules as American Handegg

Speaking of cricket, anyone see Chris Gayle's amazing innings yesterday in the IPL?
175* off 66 balls, got to 100 in 30. Also hit 17 sixes and got 2 for 5 bowling figures.
OMG that was a ridiculous day, even by his standards! Possibly the best single overall performance in cricket history!
He even hit an 111 meter six
@dutchies: It's a proper sport |

I know it's a big sport, but there's like zero interest for it in the Netherlands.
No, instead, we have the most manly sport in the world, Korfbal(MAN, what a horrible sport, no offense to anyone playing Korfbal here )

There is a very small group interested in cricket here in the Netherlands.
I think, for Dutch people ice skating is as popular as cricket for British and Indians.

I don't think you understand the fantaisism surrounding cricket in India.
Imagine the British love of Football, the Flemish love of cycling, the dutch love of sexual freedom and drugs, the german love of rules, the american love of freedom all multiplied together.
Now add in a healthy dash of sheer love.
That is how much the Indians love cricket. It is on a par with Hinduism in many places.
It goes: 1)Drinking water, 2)Cricket, 3)Eating

Well, Ice skating is quite popular here, don't underestimate that, 90% of the country goes Ice Skating during the Winter.
But yeah, I guess Indians love cricket more than 'We' love Ice Skating...

It is widely believed that 90% of the Indian population watched the 2011 World Cup final against Sri Lanka (around 1.089 billion people)

Ugh. Ice skating. Except for marathon ice skating, which is a bit like cycling, everything else of it is just pure lame.
2 people riding around on a perfectly flat and sterile indoors ice skating track, riding in their own lanes, against the clock. I don't understand why they still ride with 2 people at the same time, it's just a race against the clock, always.
100+ blokes on a natural lake racing for the entire day is something else though, and pretty cool. In that sense, I wouldn't mind another Elfstedentocht. |

but, but, but, aren't there a lot of Indians without a television? But I admit, that's very impressive!
Edit: Actually, 12.6 million people watched Netherlands - Uruguay, semi-final of the World Championship Football 2010. That's about 80%, but still impressive

If you're so desperate to loose freedom and have other people in what should be your, and only your, space, moving to North Korea is always an option.
