Oh, and TheManxMissile posting a 'all 85s' comment in 3, 2, 1...
Pfft

What? 85?? That's way too low... Everything is on atleast 90 and the stamina is on 99 since you made 70+ break... But it's great to see him win the Dauphiné!! You're going to win the ITT NC and then take it from there!

Wow that's some great racing for Willy - winning the Dauphine must put a lot of pressure on him to do really well in the Tour though...

TTspecialist - Thanks a lot!

Ollfardh - Stijn's situation is difficult. Seems like he'll be injured to the start of July, then he'll miss the Tour...

wogsrus - He sure does!

Atlantius - You have to leave someone for the others Wink

rogvi97 - Yeah he's definitely 99 on all stats Pfft

Stromeon - That's true. Everyone will keep an eye on him, even his own team manager.

alex valceanu - I hope so, too! Maybe he peaked too early, but I don't think so!

sutty68 - Thanks a lot!

dienblad - Thanks! I got lucky with the 70 km solo, they started their chase waaay to late (you must know what that's like in your career!), and then keeping a part of the lead!

Daggen - Cocky? Pfft

Jesleyh - I'm glad too! Thanks!

Thanks for the many comments! Maybe I'll go through the ITT later this evening, I'll see! Together with an update concerning Stijn!

How is "sorry Froomy not today" not cocky? Pfft

I will accept that. Winning the Dauphiné at age 23, you can be a little cocky Grin

Preview & Race

Willy Wouters

I participated in the time trial but I didn't go to the road race. Instead, I already went to France. I'm here, awaiting the Tour, that starts tomorrow! As a team, we're starting with high morale on the one hand, but also a few men short. I'll explain later.

The time trial was exciting. But I won't report on it, on account of... it being a time trial. I sat on a bike for 51 km at a constant pace, want to see pictures, really? The road race ended in a sprint, with an old friend reclaiming his jersey!

Aftermath/Other News

Obviously I'm extremely happy to win the time trial! I was the absolute favorite, with De Gendt not participating. But in the end, you have to do it! Another victory, which makes 7 this season, and another morale boost for the Tour de France! I'm absolutely thrilled about these last couple of weeks and I can barely believe it. This is all so much to take. Suddenly I'm really on the radar and I'm in this positive wave, everything is going so well, for me. Finally I present you, after a bad fall, here's Stijn:

Stijn Van Gent

Hey everyone,

I'm sorry it's been so long. Like you probably saw, I took a bad fall and I was very afraid for my back. I was out of consciousness for a few seconds and at first I couldn't move my right leg. I was very scared there for a second. In the end, it's not the worst-case-scenario. But I want to be careful, therefore I won't be riding the Tour. I'll be taking it easy and I hope to get back into competition in the Eneco Tour. I'm very sorry to miss this Tour, but I don't want to jeopardize my health and further career.

On another note, Tom Slagter was heading for the win in the National Road Race when he, too, took a fall. He'll be out until August, and so Team Argos - Shimano has to go to the Tour without its sprinter and its puncher. I guess all eyes are on Willy now!
I wish him the best of luck.

Until later,
Stijn

Wait. Isn't this the third time they planned to race the TdF together but fail? Wink
I like the NC's winners, especially Willy ofc Pfft
Nice that Mollema got the Dutch RR too.

Edit: wait, my first sentence was wrong...
Anyway, hope Stijn has recovered when Eneco starts..
