Amazing Braico! I was not expecting to get a stage win out of this, but this really makes the race for me. Reinhardt with a good sprint as well, would have been 2nd either way if the break was caught. Great stage, one of the highlights of the season for us.
Thank you roturn, still chances for Boom yet.

As mentioned earlier I would like really to see Nesset try his chances in the break instead of just trying to sit with the best GC guys. Congrats to knockout on the stage win though... Puma also having a great race, even though they just missed out on the stage win here today.
Surprisingly big gaps between the favourites and suddenly Rein in the lead again. Expecting Spilak to really come on the attack now the next two stages.

Good effort from Kastrantas once again. Pathetic, however from both Lecuisinier and Vasyliv! Absolutely pathetic!!!

Impressive stuff by Sergis - I was a bit bothered by my climbers because they joined far less breaks than i would have hoped and i sont see any excuse to not target KoM points but that victory here is amazing!
Sorry for the relative lack of comments by me. I usually read reports at work and i dont want to comment from there too often but then i forget to reply later if the stages were not interesting for me. A bit of a shame because the quality of the reports is very impressive. Thanks for that!
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

While it is great that Rein rides himself into the yellow jersey tvat is not the way I wanted it to happen. Til this stage it has been an epic battle and this feels kind of hollow. Really, really bad by the AI

Yeah kinda anticlimactic to see the duel be terminated this way. But that's PCM for us all.
Another good day for Intxausti, re-entering in the top10. Vinhas quite active as well. Reis is just wasting his race days though.
Congrats KO!

Just disappointing to see how AI let that one play out in the fight for yellow.
Galta with a very solid ride and gaining a spot in the GC. Though, that 13th feels not safe at all considering the breakaway bonanza that has to be expected for the final two mountain stages. Fingers crossed we join the fun with Galta.
And thank you for another top quality report, jandal7! |

Super report jandal, thanks for Flugel's coverage he really is making the most of his last season at the top of his game. If he can stay inside the top 25 GC I will be thrilled.

That was a blast to read! Thanks jandal.
Great stage by both Kruijswijk and Kangert.
Shame Steven couldn't beat Sergis, but still a great ride by him.
And Kangert...his current GC position is absolutely amazing for a 75 climber and by now he's proven that it's not a fluke. Very clever rider.
Also nice that this stage pretty much cemented our TC win.
And ofcourse congrats to Evonik

Luckily Boom got a 1st and 2nd here already.
Otherwise the amount of just riding without points in the end of the top10, which doesn`t even give a lot of ranking points neither in the end, is all but ideal.
But obviously going still a lot better out of this race than half of the other teams, so can`t really complain neither with Dekker still being 2-3 spots higher than expected and so close to hopefully remain like that. |

Congrats Ember! all of a sudden it looks like a very strong GT from Galta with 2 stagewins and a comfortable top 7 GC
Also Nerz keeps climbing in the GC, to score quite a bit from this race...
Lecuisinier did well on this stage, but it didn't give any big points due to the breakaway. The final mountainstage will be quite interesting giving the shortness of the race. Also interesting to see if the sprinters can survive. I suspect it will be goodbye for the likes of Tzortzakis...

Stunning.
And what a masterpiece of a report, jandal7! Thank you a lot for that in-depth coverage with a lot of pictures and much text to follow too, which was also entertaining, like it has been for the whole race.
My heartbeat quickly went up when I saw Galta was joining the breakaway fun, as the size of the break and the riders in it quickly hinted that they would stay away. Then the tension rose when Galta and Nerz seemed rather equal in the fight for KoM points, as I thought the latter was on a great day and Galta not so much. But then when he rode away on the penultimate mountain and never looked back... Amazing!
Can't quite believe our luck with Galta here, as a top 10 overall now suddenly seems safe, in addition to his two stage wins. 7th place overall should be the goal for the final mountain stage, but it depends on Wellens, Dekker, Intxausti and Keinath, and if they join the breakaway.
This has turned out to be a sensational Tour for us, and something we've never been close to GT wise before as well. I'm thrilled
Really looking forward to see a final fight and then a decision for the yellow jersey on stage 20. 80 seconds could be possible if the aggressive riding starts early, I think, but it will definitely take a Spilak on top daily form. The fight for the final podium spot is also very much up in the air. Where Taaramäe is the obvious favourite for the overall win, the battle between Gesink and Sicard feels wide open with just one stage left to make a difference. |

Can't believe how many breakaways we did not join here. So we're neither going for the GC (at least, not seriously) nor breakaways. At least the TTT gave us or stage win goal. Apart from that, this has been a pathetic effort from almost all of our riders (Rohan Dennis at least had this one 3rd place a few days ago). Ugly.

Congrats to ember again, but wow, I'm getting really tired of seeing the same riders go in the break over and over again, while we don't even try. When we first are riding such a passively race, nothing makes me happier than seeing Galta perform at his top level!

Disappointing not to see anyone in the breakaway in these mountain stages. Brambilla starting to slip away again. One last stage left for redemption.

Congrats on another sensational win, ember. Galta is proving to be a superb rider. I'm quite jealous seeing how Reis, despite being so similar to him, is doing absolutely nothing. At least he's going to be easy to renew
It's been quite the anticlimactic Tour for us. But at least it is nice to see the "Party Pooper" at his old ways, even if for a brief moment only.
The reports have been outstanding. Very entertaining writing jandal! Looks like you're having a lot of fun with all of this. Thanks for that too mate!
