Loving Masnada Yes of course Nibali can win Giro imo, way too class to count him out, even when he doesn't look the strongest (2016) he can find a way and he is still among the strongest. Packed startlist for the Giro, can't wait
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Agree. I have a strong feeling that Giro will be once again better than TDF . I am curious what Tom can do.
Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.

Quite some fun racing in the Alps over the last couple of days. Quite pathetic the race didn't have a single summit finish though.
I like what they are trying to do here, maybe encouraging long distance attacks, but when almost every stage finishes on plain flat it doesn't really add any other emotion for the last 20km or so. Plus, Sky kids were mental. Even with 2 or 3 short climbs near the end of each stage, perhaps.
Nevertheless, I too miss those mountain top finishes from Giro del Trentino. |

Over to the Tour de Romandie now where Emmanuel Bachmann's daring attack was caught before the finish, with the German finishing with the pack just outside the top 10 for the stage. The Stage 1 victory goes to Primož Roglič ahead of David Gaudu and Rui Costa.
That should see Roglič move into the leader's jersey now.

If every cycling race was held in Switzerland, Rui Costa would be the best rider in the world. |

Betancur going quite well the last couple of weeks. Had a good Giro last year too until he crashed out, iirc. |

Victory for the breakaway on Stage 2 of the Tour de Romandie, with FDJ's Stefan Kung surviving to the finish line. Sam Bennet won the bunch sprint a minute later to take second ahead of Sonny Colbrelli in third, with Simone Consonni and Elia Viviani also in the mix.
Happens to be a day for the breakaway apparently, with Jesper Asselman of Roompot - Charles taking the victory on Stage 1 of the Tour de Yorkshire literally just ahead of the chasing peloton. From the peloton, Cofidis' Filippo Fortin takes out second place ahead of Jonas van Genechten of Vital Concept - B&B Hotels. Boy van Poppel just missed out on making it a 1st and 3rd for Roompot on a day that featured some miserable weather by the end.

I’m not sure but I think the opening stage in Yorkshire always finishes with a breakaway winning. |

Not always according to PCS' history of the race, but that is the second consecutive year that the breakaway has stole the opening stage, with Harry Tanfield and co doing it in 2018.

Peloton made sure to stop any breakaway shenanigans on Stage 2 of the Tour de Yorkshire. A comfortable sprint victory for Rick Zabel and Katusha - Alpecin in the end, with Boy van Poppel and Chris Lawless rounding out the podium for the day.
Over at the Tour of Romandie, the Stage 3 victory went to FDJ's David Gaudu on the day. The Frenchman proving superior on the steep ramp to the finish, with Rui Costa and Primož Roglič having to settle for second and third ahead of Michael Woods and Felix Grossschartner. Carlos Betancur the best of the Movistar riders finishing 13th on a stage that caused a number of small time gaps by the finish line.

A good day for Pro-Continental team Riwal Readynez as Alexander Kamp claims the Stage 3 victory at the Tour de Yorkshire. The podium being rounded out by Team INEOS' Chris Lawless and CC Team's Greg van Avermaet. Chris Lawless moves into the leader's jersey ahead of Alexander Kemp and Greg van Avermaet after Jesper Asselman lost over two minutes.
Over at the Tour de Romandie, Primoz Roglic claimed the stage 4 victory on the climb to Torgon. Rui Costa once again finished in second, with Geraint Thomas coming in third ahead of the likes of Michael Wood and David Gaudu. So advantage Roglic in the GC going into tomorrow's final stage, a 16.85km ITT.

After 6th place in Himmerland Rundt, I think it's fair to say that Soren Waerenskjold is next big thing. Agreeing with me is correct
