Not 100% sure though if he had a tiny % injury left (which is not likely seeing his stage win) or just suffered a -3 to -5 daily form here. So hopefully the last stage to lose unnecessarily time.
Already having 3 Aegon stage wins here in this Tour seems enough.

With Swift being injured and out of the race I guess it will remain with 3 unfortunately.
Funny to say actually seeing Swift`s sprint performances this year. But he still did crash more often than ever. Basically had no race he did not crash.
TdF, SAA Afrique and iirc also in Paris Nice.
Lucky that in the other races he remained without injury. Had to end at some point though...just a pity it was in his only GT then... |

Hopefully this means that Spilak will start to take charge of the race. GC is very close so far so epic raids are rather unlikely. Taaramae do to a Landis eventually would be fun tho.

Nice to see Rein back at his best. Guessing he still could manage a podium, so at least the crash didn't have the biggest consequences. Also liking how good Guldhammer is looking for an other Norwegian manager.
I have to say, I'm really fascinated by how good Adam Yates is. OP through the roof

Congrats to Heine, for a neutral viewer it is great to see Rein making his comeback!

Another great performance by Guldhammer! That top 10 looks just about safe now, meaning it is all about getting as high as possible now. Yates should be bestanden, but again Guldhammer struggles to put time in him, even with a great hilly stage.
Also very encouraging to see Dyrnes join the breakaway, our first sign of life on that front. Unfortunate to see him caught quickly, as we looked set to make huge inroads in the teams competition. With a strong Nesset and breakaway appearances, anything should still be possible there.
And congratulations, Heine! |

That sucks.
Im been ok with crashes so far, Cort Nielsen already been down a few times so no chance of top 25 for him longer.
But now Wellens crashins aswell and Lövkist not helping him in the end? Could that mean Wellens is injured... Dropping down two places and now Dekker is really close aswell. |

Awful performances from Spil- wait what? Nice to see Taarsmae back in form the last few days as well. Awesome reporting Aquarius!

Great to see that Rein is alive and well, hate to see that he would've owned this GC without the falls...
Most likely not a great day for Rein, considering that he had to let go on the first climb, but still strong enough to stay with Spilak on the last climb and not loosing more time to him, while taking back some time from Phinney/Gesink/Amador... So a good stage again. We will get e nice amount of points out of this anyway it seems. 2 stage wins, some podiums, and others is a good result til now.
I guess we will see a happy Sotd soon, this TDF is playing into Spilak's hands now

Spilak delivers. He's been led to the top of the GC through others misfortunes, but that somehow gave him his mojo. Congrats SotD! Taaramae also on the road to success and his already luring the podium.
Vinhas with a good ride, completely irrelevant in the great picture.
A pity for Spotify with Wellens crash. Too many crashes in this race.

Love the way Dekker is racing here making the stages more interesting
Though not sure it's the smartest tactic. Guess he should save energy to follow the better climbers and maybe had finished 1 min better today.
Though this would be boring and he hopefully continues with the aggressiveness which hurts his direct opponents.
Pity to see Wellens and Nibali crash today. Almost every favourite was hit now I guess. |

Congratulations, SotD! Suspect you'll finally be happy about a stage result here
A pity to see Wellens crash and loose valuable time and GC spots, as he seemed safe for a top 5 in the end. Hopefully he can do a quick recovery like Taaramäe and be back at his proper level.
For Guldhammer, that was another good GC stage, climbing well and finally putting time into Yates. Though, assuming Wellens is not injured, it could prove difficult to defend both against him and Dekker, but it's very nice to see him give it everything, opposite to the Vuelta.
And thank you again for the very nice and consistent reporting, Aquarius97! |

Good rides from Phinney both days he's ultra consistent at the moment performing to his stats each stage then next couple suit him a bit better so possibly another stage win and closing the gap to Spilak in green what be perfect |

Thanks guys... I guess this will stop the moaning for a brief period of time...
I finally got the 1/2 minimum stagewin requirement aswell as increasing the lead ever so slightly.
I still expect to lose 1'30 to Gesink and 2'30 to Phinney in the final TT, so we need more time to ensure that we won't lose positions. Also 6'30" is definately reachable for Taaramäe. Stage 18, 19 and 20 could well mean losing 2minutes pr. stage to Taaramäe. We need him to get closer to the top 3 for Spilak to counter his moves. As long as he is "this far back" I fear that he will - at some point - make that decisive move that will give him 3-4 minutes. For every day that doesn't happen though, we have to be content with things.
It sucks to see more crashes to the top 10 guys. I believe almost everyone have been down except for Spilak - so we probably will see that at some point. Both my main domestiques have been down, and most of the top 30 have aswell.

What a god awful stage. Nerz and Arndt lost SIX MINUTES to riders like Yates and Faiers?! Not even gonna bother to comment on what happened up front, and that we should've been represented. Just skip the remaining mountain stages please.

Sucks for riders losing time, but as a neutral what a great stage, love to see some spice in proceedings Koch on his way to the top 10 for sure, Keinath with a super strong day and in the top 5 is cool. Love to see Haute Route with a nice result too

Lol, what a stage. Sagan better than Hirt in mountains. And that gap to breakaway is an absolute WTF thing. Congrats to all riders involved. Pereiro-like moment.
Overall quite a successful race for my team. Really happy with poor amount of puncheurs on startlist here. Was great to see Sagan in a yellow jersey and winning a stage as well. Hirt doing decently. Cink with a nice breakaway attempt. And at the same time an insane number of falls in this race. Too bad to see Taaramae and especially Tenorio going down. On the other way Spilak still in the lead. Looks like 'this is the race' for SotD. Not a great moment for us.
