Great race.
tomorrows race is hard to predict, judged on the season you would still say Van Aert or Vd Poel, regardless of the course. But the worlds are always different, and if it's a hard course (in terms of the surface i mean), then guys like Pauwels, Meeusen and maybe even some CZech riders have a good chance as well. |

Great races, especially the women race was dramatic, shame about Nash slipping out of the podium fight.
Andreassen was awesome from start to finish.
Here are some of my photos from Juniors + bonus from 2nd to last lap in women category, Cant fighting for the gold with Ferrand-Prevot and Vos and Harris with Nash at the back.

Surprising results today. Didn't think Andreassen could win it. Iserbyt won 19 out of 20 races this season, only to get beaten when it really matters.
Very nice for Danish cyclocross. I hope he'll keep racing in cyclocross.
And Ferrand-Prévot, wow. She could be the new Marianne Vos. (though Vos is only 27) World champion on the Road and Cyclocross. And very cute, too.
Gotta feel for Nash, though. She was in great shape.

Again the top favourite didn't win. Sweeck crashed three times this race and Vanthourenhout didn't.
Gotta feel for Toupalik. Had a mechanical very early in the race. Never came back to the front.

If we've learned one thing, it's that the track is constantly changing. Should be an interesting race this afternoon!
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Update after lap 1:
M vd Poel
+5 Meeusen, Pauwels, Van Aert
+10 or so Vd Haar, Vantornout, Mourey, Taramarcaz.
Nys already at +30

I'd nevertheless be quite interested in how Van Aert would have done if he hadn't had his issues in the first two laps.
Meanwhile Van der Haar has dropped Pauwels and is solo 2nd.

Really strong from Matthieu, but still, I'd like to see it if Van Aert doesn't get all those mechanicals.
Belgium was really weak, only Pauwels did well but 2vs1 doesn't go that well. I'm actually relieved Van der Haar didn't get second after such a lame race.

Well, so did Mathieu. It was Van Aert's fault to change bike's though, he'll be annoyed at that for a while.

Also don't forget Mathieu led the entire race, and with his lead he had to keep others in check, and not always take full risk, because that would blow away his lead if he falls or is too rough on his material.
Van Aert after his fall had nothing to lose + adrenaline boost because you want to make up time. So logical he was faster than Vd Poel who is going maybe 98% but not full risk.
If Van Aert didn't fall yes ofcourse it would be a different race, but it's not to say if Van Aert would've won, because then Vd Poel would have raced differently as well.
What I still remember that was that in the beginning, Vd Poel put Van Aert under great pressure even before the mechanicals, and that Van Aert didn't follow easily. Fastest lap was also Vd Poels.. So, it would've been hard to beat him anyway |

Yes! Yes!
My three favorite riders on the podium, my 2 absolute favorite on 1 and 2. Couldn't be better.
Van Der Poel breaks the record of youngest WC ever. Van Aert will break the record of most World Championships ever, so it's all good |

Van Aert could yeah, but maybe he has the same 'championships' syndrom that Nys always had
Van Aert might challenge Nys in most career cross wins though |
