What an amazing solo-ride by Perichon! He timed it perfectly there! Gallopin seems to be team-mate of the day, bringing Siskevicius right to the line
And yes, things IS looking far more bright now. A double win in a sponsor goal race always makes things better

Cool. Things are already getting too easy
And your avatar kinda reminds me of Facebook, expcept that it says Pelli!
How come you have it though? I thought you didn't really even like Pelliotti anymore? Just to be recognized easier?

Thanks, everyone.
@ valv321 - Believe me, I'm not a fan of him any longer. I wish I would've been smarter when I created my account, and named myself something different. I've always hated my nick.
The avatar's point is to show that by cutting away the "zotti" part. Makes it a bit less directly connected to the rider, while it also stays similar to my username, to avoid confusing people.
Five classics are next on the schedule. My plan is to write up a big preview for all of them combined. Probably the next thing to expect here.

You can change nick if you want. (I think the administrators can, or maybe it's just CrueTrue, not sure)
But I understand that now we know you as Pellizotti and it would be weird to see you with a different nick.

Thanks ste_18.
@ Freitas - I have the power as well. But that doesn't mean that I should do it however, as CT usually doesn't see any reason for it. Plus, it would cause a lot of confusion.
I'll start working on the classics preview now. If not up today, then almost surely tomorrow morning. Stay tuned.

As promised, a five-in-one preview!
12/04/2012
A sprint finish is very likely, so we're backing up Siskevicius. The form has reached top level at last, so perhaps we can start expecting results now? Perichon and Paillot will either help out or try something towards the end.
Farnese Vini's Andrea Guardini is surely the best sprinter in the field. Aside from him, I'm warning for the recent period's successful man, Adrien Petit, and his French compatriot Sébastien Chavanel.
14/04/2012
Same lineup as in GP Denain. The finish here, in Quimper, is far harder however, perhaps suiting Perichon's characteristics a bit more than Siskevicius'. We'll probably try both a late attack and gamble on a sprint at the finish. Will be interesting to see how hard the race really is.
Once again it's Farnese Vini that has the bookmarkers favourite, here in the shape of Elia Favilli, who should enjoy the uphill finish. José Joaquin Rojas and Julien Antomarchi are two others to watch.
14/04/2012
I'm very unsure about how decisive the short cobbled sections will be. If it becomes the race's crucial points, we'll be in trouble. Hopefully the few paved sections wont disturb the sprinters much, in which case Siskevicius will try to go for a good result. One of the most unpredictable races during the year.
Again, not sure what sort of riders will thrive on the strange parcours. Marco Marcato, Lloyd Mondory and Koen De Kort are all pretty decent when it comes to both cobbles and sprinting. Therefore I'm picking them for this.
21/04/2012
A bit harder terrain would've been better for Siskevicius, but with the current form he should still be able to pull off a decent result. It's very unlikely that anything will prevent a mass sprint finish, so Perichon and Paillot will most likely act as luxury domestiques in the finale.
Tom Veelers has been dominant in the flat classics this season, so surely he must go as the big favourite. We certainly can't underestimate Reinardt Janse van Rensburg either, even though he's not really a sprinter. He does have nine wins under his belt just this year after all.
22/04/2012
The race is very similar to Arno Wallaard Memorial, and thus also our plans. Siskevicius will give it his best shot in the mass sprint, hoping to surprise the other sprinters.
Again it's Veelers who is the big name on the list. Lithuanian road champion and strong allrounder Gediminas Bagdonas and Romain Matheou should also be watched, after a good recent period.

Mostly sprints. Though Finistière could be a chance for puncheurs, I think. |

Have to admit that I was a bit inactive in the story section recently. Far too many threads in especially in the Man Game after my 2 weeks of holiday.
So great to see you still do well with the team.
Great attempt with Perichon in Paris Camembert. Perfectly timed and even successful. Winning the sprint of the peloton makes it even better.
Good luck for the upcoming classics. Except for Finistere they might be harder to "dominate" I think. |

Thanks for the comments.

Just like in most other flat races this year, it's Europcar in control when a sprint starts to come close. Siskevicius manages to find the perfect wheel just behind the last green man, Sebastien Chavanel.
The Frenchman kicks off under the kite with an impressive jump. Siskevicius and the other sprinters aren't quite able to match the speed, and a small gap opens up quickly.
It's tough headwind tho, and Chavanel starts to fade a bit in the final couple of hundred meters. Siskevicius is still in second place, clawing his way back together with Jure Kocjan and Adrien Petit.
It's just a few meters too far for the man from Europcar, and Siskevicius comes around for the victory, his first of the season! Chavanel desperately hangs on for second place, ahead of Kocjan and Petit, who both ran out of road to come past.
We're on a streak! Second straight victory for the team, and again in a high-quality field. I wouldn't mind if the season continues like this. It's looking very promising for the remaining four classics coming up next.
