The Strade Bianche is classified as flat, but there are lots of short and steep climbs in the route, so be prepared to a reduced group sprint on the uphill finish.
Our squad:
We came here mainly with our Lugano squad, and decided to give Sutton and Mellberg the leadership, so they'll be our co-leaders.

Looking at the startlist, the biggest names are Gilbert, Sgan and Purito, so the field is very strong here in Italy. It'll be really hard to compete against these big names!
The breakaway got away early on the famous white roads. Kevin Seeldreyers from Astana was the biggest name, but the peloton didn't let them too far as...
.... Liquigas worked very hard for Peter Sagan, and Androni was also helping them. The peloton was splitting into loads of parts on the steep hills, and Gömböcz and Clemson got caught on the wrong side. However, we still had Pye, Mellberg and Sutton in the front group.
We tried to form a little train with Pye leading Sutton, who leads out Mellberg, and Pye began to pull. He was very strong, but the Liqui traain was coming fast for Sagan. Sutton started to sprint and brought Mellberg into a perfect position. Mellberg started a bit late, but
My final picture didn't save, I don't know why.
He wins Strade Bianche! He edged out Gatto, Sagan and Gilbert on the line! A beautiful achievement for the Swedish rider!

Another win!
If you will keep playing like this, Puskaric will win every stage in the Giro!

@Ian I'm thinking mainly about a top 5 and a stage - win.
Spoiler and secretly hoping for something more GC - wise. |

This years Paris - Nice starts with a 9.3km long prologue, which contains a little hill at the start of the stage.
Phinney is amongst the 1sts to start and sets and great time! 12'38! Who will be the first one to beat this?
One ouf our numerous specialists, Yoshinabe tries, but he misses Phinney's time with 7 seconds. But still this was a good time for him.
After a another set of bad prologue riders, Gary Sutton comes. Can he beat Taylor? No, but he equals the time of the BMC rider! What a strong start for our GC contender.
Close after Sutty, the ITT World Champion, Tony Martin comes. He disappoints with a time of 12'40. That wasn't a really good performance from the OPQS rider.
Here he comes the crazy attacker frenchman! He's the last specialist out, what can he do with the time of Phinney? He beats Phinney by 6 seconds! Wow, that was a strong start of the P-N for him. Congratulations Mr. Chavanel!
1 | Sylvain Chavanel | Omega Pharma - Quick·Step Cycling Team | 12'32 | 2 | Gary Sutton | SpiderTech - Cervélo | + 6 | 3 | Taylor Phinney | BMC Racing Team | s.t. | 4 | David Millar | Garmin - Sharp | + 8 | 5 | Tony Martin | Omega Pharma - Quick·Step Cycling Team | + 10 | 6 | Lars Boom | Rabobank Cycling Team | + 11 | 7 | Máté Gömböcz | SpiderTech - Cervélo | + 12 | 8 | Daisuke Yoshinabe | SpiderTech - Cervélo | + 13 | 9 | Jonathan Castroviejo | Movistar Team | + 14 | 10 | George Hincapie | BMC Racing Team | + 17 |

Hey guys, I'm off to Slovenia today for 4 days, so I'll be back on Monday, so the reports should stop until then. To help me with the comeback on Monday/Tuesday (Tuesday more likely), I'd like to ask you a question.
How would you prefer me to report the P-N and the T-A? The two races separated or stage by stage. It really doesn't matter to me, it's really up to you guys to decide.
Also if there's anything you want to know about your riders, please ask here, and I'll get you the info on Tuesday! Thanks for your help and see you on Tuesday!

In some stories doing the races at the same time can be confusing but its your decision at the end of the day |

Thanks for all the comments, it looks like that I'll be doing it stage by stage.
While I'm here in Slovenia, and the story can't continue, I'd like you to answer another question: Which victory is your favourite so far, and why?
A, Christian Bahr in the Santos Tour Down Under
B, Gary Sutton in Oman on the Green Mountain
C, Jan Mellberg in the Strade Bianche |
