The following is a fan letter that was sent to us earlier today
I was out for a lovely run today, and much to my surprise look what I saw on my hill run!
I really couldn't make out who it was, until I got a better shot
- Lance Armstrong
- Chris Horner
- Levi Leipheimer
- Tom Danielson
- Taylor Phinney
- Jake Keough
6 Americans riding the hills of Colorado! I got one more picture of them, when I reached the top of the hill which overlooks the climb to the top:
What an exciting site for me!! I tried stopping to talk with them, but team manager & assistant Mr. Clark & Mr. Belko were following close behind the riders to immediately ask me to leave them alone. From what I heard, there was another group of 6 riders in another part of the state training in some kind of another activity. Who knows!
I can't wait until they start the season!!!!

He was actually running down the hill, so these pictures were taken in the reverse order they are shown.

Each individual rider has just gotten done having a conversation with the staff about there role in the team and what is expected out of them for this year:
Please note that it is the rider himself talking in each conversation
LEVI LEIPHEIMER:
"So I had a meeting with the staff earlier on, and they told me they have some high hopes for me. In the first 2 years of our cycling organization, they want me to be the one to try to win or get a podium spot in any of the grand tours. Sounds like a challenging task to me, but I do not want to let the team down. I am 38 years old, and I do not have alot of gas left in the tank when it comes to long-term deals. Nevertheless, I can not wait for the season to begin!"
CHRIS HORNER:
"Had a meeting with the crew today, and I was informed that I will be used as a mentor to the other riders. Not as much as Armstrong, but helpful when he isn't around. They told me if I get into contention for a GT or major stage race, that I will be taking the opportunity to try and win! I am very happy with my role on the team, and am looking forward to seasons beginning!"
TOM DANIELSON:
"The team told me that I have a bright future today, and I could not have agreed more! They said I am the best recovery & downhill rider on the squad, and they will use me in important roles involving the two. I'm not 100% sure what they have in store, but I can't wait to find out. My mountain strength is also going to be a big part of my role, but we will have to wait to see what that entails."
LANCE ARMSTRONG
"I just had a pretty long meeting with the staff, and they made it clear to me that unless I have a super good opportunity at winning a race, I probably wouldn't see many wins this year. I am ok with that though. They said they want me to hang around 2 years to mentor the young riders, and I am still contemplating whether or not to just hang around for 1 year, we will have to see how year 1 goes first. I am the best endurance & resistance wise on the squad, so I may be used in some situations involving them. As long as the USDA stays away from me, this should be a fun season"
DOMINIQUE ROLLIN
"The best Canadian on the squad along with fellowman Svein Tuft I am told, and that makes me happy that they feel that way about me. The best Flat rider on the squad, they said they hope to see me win my fair share of stages this year. I am also the most fierce fighter on the squad, and I never ever plan on giving up on my teammates this year! See you when the season starts!"
SVEIN TUFT
"The team told me that they hope I come through for them in ideal Time Trial situations. Prologues are also another thing they want to see me successful in. Me and Dominique are the top Canadians on the squad and both very good at flat stages. Whats in store for my this year, well we will just have to wait and see  ."
