Lastras deserved that win. Very well-timed attack.
I still don't understand Irizar and Pidgornyy though. Why didn't they help Chavanel in the chase? Stupid mistake that costed them a possible stage win.

Nice win by Lastras. Hoped a stage win from him before the start.
And how to screw your Vuelta and my fantasy team by Denis Nikolayevich Menchov. |

Menchov missed the split and lost 3:06 (1:23 to the peloton). That's so Menchov-esque.

I think they were dead. Chavanel should've tried to drop them as he was going faster than Lastras alone. |

And it seems Antón was suffering too? I knew it was too strange nothing wrong happening with him. Let's hope he feels better tomorrow. :/ |

Sastre and Moncoutié were in the first group.
Phinney and Ligthart seem to be suffering too in their first grand tour. Also Poels lost time again. They still have to adapt to this level of racing.

Menchov is actually the worst of the GC favourites right now... I'm believing more and more that Cobo or Sastre should be the leaders... |

Apparently Kruijswijk had broken a spoke on the climb and he had to change his wheel. |

I don't know if you guys had the chance to follow the stage on TV but the image of Devolder climbing the Alto de la Santa was just hilarious! One of the images of the season! I can't imagine him climbing the Angliru...

i think he was going at 7 km/h and his gear was the highest possible. His face looked like he was exploding.
