Thanks all. The lack of updates might probably go on in the rest of September. Still 2 exams ahead and other stuff. So at the moment I don`t play very much. 1-2 stages a week maybe.
Tour de Mediterraneen - Stage 3
Carnoux-en-Provence - La Farlede
Except of some hills on the first half the stage is again pretty flat and so the sprinters get another change before we head towards the harder stages, that might decide the overall. Hopefully Farrar has a better day today.
A pretty big group is trying to get a gap to the peloton. 12 riders including Sijmens (Cofidis), Veilleux (Europcar) and Appollonio (Sky) as strongest riders shouldn`t be underestimated on such a short stage.
Champion`s teammates do a great job and so 6/8 Ag2r riders are chasing the group. Just Champion and co leader Pinaeu have a calm day in the peloton. Garmin is waiting behind them to help on the last 30-40km.
For some reason Farrar wasn`t able to find Phinney`s wheel in our sprint train and when he found it after 10!km, other trains were already much better positioned. So Farrar had to do a long sprint here.
It`s a very close sprint, which was won by Daryl Impey ahead of Engoulvent and Amorison. Farrar finished on a disappointing 8th today. He was clearly the fastest in the end, but due to his bad position this was the maximum. Shit happens.

I didn't follow your story earlier, but I will definetaly do it now!
As I understand, you have "corrected" the riders to match your PCM2010-story? If so, can you tell me if any big names have retired? And Hushovds stats would be nice
This is pretty much a picture perfect story, it should be kept on the home page just to show future story-writers how it should look like

Indeed this story is supposed to continue. But in the last weeks I had lots of University stuff to do, so my whole activity in this forum became less. And I haven`t played a single stage in the last two weeks just because of my lack of time.
Also there are other time taking times next to Uni at the moment, that are much more important.
As the exams are written yet, I might have some time to go on soon.
@ cactus_jack: I am not at home this weekend, but I might check some riders, that have retired in the first 3 seasons. Actually you can expect many riders that would have been 35+ in the 4th season. Meanwhile riders like Voigt or Armstrong are still riding if I remember right. Also both of them became pretty weak.
Hushovd also became weaker, he was the sprint dominator in the first years Vuelta, but now he is like 76 sprint and 77 cobbles or so, so still a solid rider, but more for the small races. It`s surely not the Hushovd of this years Tour.

Here it is the next report. Doesn`t mean that I have lots of time again, but at least a bit more after the exams are written.
Tour de Mediterraneen - Stage 4
La Londe Les Maures - Biot
A pretty hilly stage with a very hard uphill finish similar to the Muur de Huy in the end. Vansummeren has good memories of this climb as he won the same stage last year. So hopefully he or Fuglsang can repeat this success.
But at first a bigger group attacked out of the peloton and shares the two KoM sprints. Camano and Venter are probably the strongest puncheurs and both are just over 1 minute back, just like most other race favourites. The South African takes the maximum points ahead of the Spaniard but non of them comes close to Phinney.
Other riders are Bouyer (Europcar), Bideau, Duret (Bretagne), Hesselbarth (NetApp), Ramirez (Andalucia) or Neirynck (Topsport).
With 70km to go Danny Pate attacks out of the peloton, which is 4'30 back. Leopold König follows him, but unfortunately not working at all with his team mate in front. So the peloton catches them 10km later again.
Ag2r is again controlling the situation with FDJ helping a bit. Everything looks like catching the group soon.
But with 15km to go and still 1'40 for the smaller group the pace stopps a bit. Now it`s Garmin with Cameron Meyer, who are doing some work in the hope, that it`s not already too late.
Europcar`s Bouyer surprisingly wins the hard uphill sprint ahead of the two group favourites Camano and Venter. The group splitted in the end so there are some time gaps but this seems also to be the new overall order.
Incredibly 1'35 later Pauriol leads the big peloton over the line. What a shit stage today with another successful breakaway, although it could have been so easy to catch them. Tomorro`s stage up to Mt Faron will surely decide the overall but the biggest climbers shouldn`t underestimate the skills of Camano or Champion, who are still ahead of most others.

Nice to see another report! Not a good stage but the gaps aren't that big. The Mont Faron should see Vansummeren and Fuglsang moving up a lot.

Well, those damn breakaways... It'll be hard to attack the win now.

Thanks all. Indeed the stage could have been better, but probably I forgot how to play PCM11 after 2-3 weeks of not playing.
Here the final stage:
Tour de Mediterraneen - Stage 5
Biot – Toulon Mont-Faron
It`s the queen stage of the race. First half is a bit hilly but definitely not selective. After some flat parts then, we reach the first KoM sprint before the final climb on the Mt Faron will decide this race if not already happened.
Last season it was a thrilling fight between Sicard, Moinard and Vansummeren, let`s hope for another battle including a Garmin rider.
Lot`s of attacks on the hilly terrain. Danny Pate was supposed to jump into the groups, but all his attempts failed. After 35km another group attacked and with Nico Sijmens as 2nd in the KoM ranking we had to send Phinney this time, who is just 6 points ahead.
So these 14 riders are able to extend the gap.
Calzati (Bretagne), Bernabéu (AndalucÃa), Phinney (Garmin), Sijmens (Cofidis), De Clercq (Omega), Gonzalo (La Pomme), Bessy (Saur), Schillinger (NetApp) and Scheirlinckx (Landbouwkrediet) to name some.
Surprisingly Sky did most work in the beginning so the advance became over 7min with 100km to go, when Europcar started the pace with French champion Thomas Voeckler.
Now the first important scene of this stage. Nico Sijmens was the strongest on the climb and takes the 10 points. But Phinney was attentive and sprints to the 2nd and keeps a 4pt advantage, If the group doesn`t make it to the final climb, this was probably the decision in the KoM ranking.
Shortly after the KoM point Pierre Rolland attacks out of the peloton. Sky`s Downing, who already tried it before tries to hang on to him. Together they reach Bessy, who felt back from the breakaway due to a puncture.
But two teams are taking their gloves off now. Former Garmin rider and Tour de France KoM winner Dave Zabriskie is powering for Verandas and his leader Staf Scheirlinckx. But more important the effort of FDJ. Kreuziger seems to feel good and so the two co leaders and also favourites for today Vaugrenard and Pauriol are doing the pace.
Quickly they reach the Rolland group and also the Phinney group is less than 2min now.
On the small hill before the final climb Phinney falls back into the peloton. Some other riders are still trying but will also be caught soon.
At least the KoM jersey looks secured now.
With 5km to go Vansummeren and Pate are coming to the front and accelerate. Unfortunately Fuglsang got blocked on the other side of the road and has some problems to find a gap.
And there the expected attack comes. Roman Kreuziger jumps out of the field with a strong attack. Just Vansummeren is able to follow this move, while the peloton splits now extremely.
The Czech was jsut too explosive. Vansummeren has no chance to follow him but at least the gap to the next group is also pretty fine.
Then the big surprise. A Landbouwkrediet rider crosses the line first? Where is he coming from? It`s their team leader Bert De Waele, who attacked in the chaos on the small hill, when the breakaway was caught. Nobody had him on his list. Not even the TV broadcast saw this move. Brilliant tactic from him.
1'21 later Roman Kreuziger finishes 2nd. This already shows how big the gaps are today. No sign of Camano, Champion or Bouyer in the final.
Again Vansummeren finishes on the podium of this stage. He lost more than a minute to the Czech but was able to stay ahead of a great Vaugreanard on the final 2km.
Fuglsang was able to overtake many riders in the end and finishes on a strong 6th today. But the bigger surprise is Danny Pate as 10th. He attacked more than 3 times in the beginning and lost much energy but as yesterday he is proving a good form here.
Camano, Bouyer and Champion all lost ~5min today and will fall back.
Todays top 4 will also be the new top 4 overall. As expected this stage is the deciding one and luckily for us a good one for Garmin.

Thanks all. Obviously a perfect race for Vansummeren.
Unfortunately De Waele is one of the riders without stat convert as he rides for a small team and somehow I must have missed him. He is 76hill in the Daily DB and so also in my story save. Actually he was supposed to have just 69hill in the 4th season, but this might probably happen some other time as well, especially in small CT races as the PT teams are normally changed completely.

Nice to see that you're active again. 3rd with Vansummeren is definately not bad, especially if you didn't play PCM for 2/3 weeks.
Glad that you returned! (or roturned in this case )

Thanks MitchNL. Next week University starts again after the semester break and my time table doesn`t look very nice with lots of subjects. But I will try to play from time to time.
The Tour of Oman is a six day stage race held in Oman. It`s still a pretty new race but due to a great organisation many big stars are starting their season here. As in Qatar the riders must expect a heavy wind here, but different to the 2nd desert race, this one should be won by a climber as the new edition has the MTF onto the Green Mountain. But still many sprinters are participating here as 4/6 stages are completely flat.
Except of the mountain stage the race takes place close to the sea, what makes the race very interesting as splits might be seen here.
The climb and the hilly time trial on the day after are the stages to win the race.
Result in 2012
1 Daniel Martin Garmin - Cervelo 2 Edvald Boasson Hagen Sky Professional Cycling Team 3 Matthew Lloyd Sky Professional Cycling Team 4 Maxim Iglinskiy Team Designa Køkken - Blue Water 5 Gustav Erik Larsson UnitedHealthcare presented by Maxxis 6 Carlos José Ochoa UnitedHealthcare presented by Maxxis 7 Thomas Peterson Garmin - Cervelo 8 Sérgio Paulinho Team RadioShack 9 Maxim Belkov Farnese Vini - Neri 10 Steven Kruijswijk Leopard Trek
Daniel Martin dominated the race with 2 stage wins. Most climbers had no great form and so the puncheurs were the biggest challengers for him. Also Peterson`s 7th was one of his best results in 2012.
Matthew Goss won the point jersey with one stage win, while Garmin completed the domination with the team trophy.
Garmin squad in 2013
Ryder Hesjedal will try to repeat a Garmin win here together with Peter Stetina . Surely it will be more difficult than last year, when Martin already had a decent form after the Giro di Calabria.
Matthew Goss is back in Oman to defend the point jersey but also the sprint competition is harder this year. But in Lars Boom and Jack Bobridge he has two great supporters on the final kilomerers. Both of them will also be some of the favourites for the time trial.
The last 3 spots are filled with 3 new Garmin riders in Brent Bookwalter , Christopher Butler and our young talent Yann Souchon . All of them will do mainly helper tasks.
