Astana will depend on Kiserlovski in mountains a lot. Brajkovic is totally unproven as GT rider and so far this year has shown nothing so I don't really count him even as a Top 10 contender.
I hope Vino will get a stage win and yellow for few days, but with tough season and injuries he had I really doubt it.
He wona catalunya stage, wait, does that count? I don't remember.
Lol, biggest farce win for long time imo. The stage was cut short and ended faster. He was involved in 12 rider break, of which 8 riders didn't knew there was an actual sprint for the stage win happening
And I would say he's a top 10 guy, or at least he has a chance. Aren't you the guys who called Pinotti a Giro contender?
And just so some respect to the guy. He's rarely been a leader. Last year when he crashed out he was, but with three other guys. You never know. You saw Dauphine '10 when he peaked for it.
Just show some respect for our fellow PCM Daily member.
Dauhpine - 8 days of racing ==== GT - 21 days of racing
I have respect for him, what shows I don't ? Calling that win a farce isn't disrespecting him. As it was a farce ending to a stage.
I don't understand italic part really. Whom we didn't show respect ?
I agree with you, but he did win a four man sprint. Only 25% odds.
And I was talking about Janez, just like before.
Well yeah, still that is his biggest highlight in 2012. Winning a farce sprint
Ohh, I doubt Brajkovic is a PCM. Daily member really
He is.

Even so, it's completely fair to say that he's unproven as a GT contender. That's not lack of respect, it's an opinion. |

Jani's one of the cyclists that actually plays/played PCM, Phinney does to.

If I'm not completely wrong, I think Gesink did / does too. At least I think I read in an interview with him a long time ago that he mentioned it. Not sure though.

Whooops Thanks guys, didn't know that
Still that doesn't change my opinion, but wish him best and hopefully he'll get back to his best soon.

Remember that Astana don't have many other choices. They really don't have any stage race guy that has proven himself this year, and we don't know what Jani could have done last TDF if he hadn't crashed.

Reading that Brajkovic was on here gave me a massive cereal guy moment
Anyway, I'm not sure about him. He's 29, he needs to start being a leader within two years, because in all honesty I never hear about him anymore (though I don't follow every race in the world). Last time he really got a chance was over two years ago (not counting Vuelta last year after he had fallen in the Tour). I don't believe in Vino anymore, I don't think he's still living like a cyclist, more like a living monument (in his country) who still rides from time to time. Should Vino fail in the first stages, I hope he'll get a chance afterwards, and then I think a top 10 position will be possible with the TTs. |

I honestly think this Tour suits Brajkovic very well, as he is a very decent time triallist.

Kiesrlovski has shown so much more this year and by far most from Astana climbers.
He was 10th at Giro 2010 so proves he's decent recovery. And this year he already got 9th at PN and 7th at Volta. He was amazing at Pais Vasco if you watched it. His attack with 50km to go was one of the highlights of the whole race. He also got quite good 5th at Fleche and 14th at Liege.
Going by results this year he's the strongest climber at the moment in Astana. He's not best TT rider though and that will make Brajkovic a leader at Tour, will he perform ? We'll see, so far he hasn't shown much.

He was, but he was a domestique for Basso for the rest of the Giro, unlike Arroyo, Porte or Sastre who rode for themselves.

Kiserlovski was disappointing last season (expected a lot more) but this season he finally showed what I thought I saw in him in very young age.
The guy could be a world class climber and maybe already is. I hope he gets some more room to ride for himself like in the spring |

He had a very nasty crash in Paris-Nice which pretty much ruined his season last year, so I wouldn't say he was disappointing.

I disagree, it's disappointing. Just as you say it's disappointing when Gesink falls and has bad results as a result... |
