Ollfardh - Now there's an idea. Though I'm not a big twitter fan, don't really know how it works either
sutty68 - It must've cheered him up, finishing in front of Contador and Froome , Stijn finishing before Cavendish the day before. They're showing who's boss!
alex valceanu - Yes indeed. The Tour could surprise everyone, I reckon!
Jesleyh - Let's hope so. The competition is fierce but he isn't afraid to fight, he's shown that
Willy: A time trial that very much resembles the time trial in the Tour. Today is a test for every GC contender and time trialist! I hope for a top 5.
The Race
Willy Wouters
Gretsch proved once again his TT title isn't an accident. He picks up no less than five riders and sets an amazingly strong time!
I have to suffice with picking up one man - Knees. I rode an overall great time trial and finish on the podium!

Aftermath
All in all an excellent day today! I show I'm ready for the National Title, so let's hope for a good day there. And above all, I'm ready to return to the Tour for a top 10, hoping to do better than last year!
There's still not a lot of news from Stijn. Last I heard, it's going to be hard being ready for the Nationals and possibly even the Tour... His spot would probably go to Meersman, but nothing is decided yet.
Willy: I think it's time to confirm myself as a GC contender. My palmares has two amazing victories (Tirreno twice), but I need to show those victories were no accident. Any second gained on Froome today would be great!
The Race
Willy Wouters
I remember the Grand Colombier from some holidays. I love that mountain. Geniez told me this morning he had great legs and wanted to help me any way possible. So I asked him to go in the red for me, with about 75 km left to go!
Team Sky didn't react right away so we took advantage of that. After three minutes, Geniez had given everything. I sped away right from behind his wheel. A daring attack, with more than 70 km left to go, but taking risks is part of being a true winner, and that's what I want to become!
The reaction in the pack stayed out. Out of confusion, powerlessness, I don't know. All I know is, at the top of the Grand Colombier, I had a 6 minute advantage on the race leader! Only then they got to work, and riders dropped left and right.
But I was gone! I was out there, doing my thing: climbing and time trialing. I felt on top of the world!
Froome himself was called upon to do the dirty job. He reduced the gap to 5 minutes and a half, and then slowed down.
Others soon joined in the chase, and my energy was not endless, no matter how I felt. Under the 5 km banner, I held a 4 minute advantage. More than enough to bring this home!
I remember every single second from that final kilometer: the pride, the happiness, the incredible joy!
In the end, they brought back my lead to 3 minutes, but all that doesn't matter. After a +70 km solo, this is the best day in my life. This is me with a message: I am here!

Aftermath
I shouldn't try to explain to you how important today was? Frankly, I think people overreacted to this, but in the end I'm just amazingly proud and nothing will stop me from bringing home this Critérium du Dauphiné! There were world-wide reactions to both my long, long solo and my seizing the leader's jersey with 2 and a half minutes to spare on Froome.
José De Cauwer (Belgian ex-cyclist, national coach and current commentator):
This is a great day for Belgium. Today we saw a glimpse of Eddy Merckx, going away so far from the finish, with nobody to ever see him again! This victory will be talked about for a very long time!
Christopher Froome:
It's hard to say what happened. He was strong in yesterday's time trial, and he already has 2 final wins in Tirreno - Adriatico, with only 23 years of age. We knew he was a dangerous man, but with 75 km left to go, we didn't think he'd make it. This was inhuman. Tomorrow I will attack his jersey with everything I've got.
Eddy Merckx:
I think this young Wouters gives hope to the whole of Belgium. We've been waiting for a Tour-winner for so long, and I strongly believe this young man has potential to make that dream come true. He's got determination, strong legs, intelligence and, above all, balls. He has everything to make it work for him.
Team leader at Team Argos - Shimano:
Today was an amazing day for the team. When we signed Wouters last year, we knew he had a great potential, but this we never expected. How is he like? Wouters is an old-school rider. He trains a lot and races mostly on his gut feeling, his instinct.
I guess things won't be the same after today. The press noticed me, I'm now an outsider for the Tour De France. This is all unbelievable, but I better start acting like it!
Two stages left to defend this jersey. I will defend it with my life.
See you tomorrow,
Willy
