Dissapointment: WIggins(I know that he had to work for froome but he could be better) ;(
He did what he could. Look at SN's post.
Nibali, considering he won last year, is far more disappointing than Wiggins. |

Congrats to Cobo, Sagan and Mollema. A bit disappointed at Rodriguez for not even trying to defend green.
I think he tried to defend it (Horrach was clearly in that three man break to take those two sprints) but he has no chance on such a large and flat road.

What I mean is that he could at least stay close to Mollema in the final kilometers to try to outsprint him instead of sitting at the back of the peloton. |

Wiggins exceeded expectations.
Its ridiculous to claim he should be dissapointed with the race.

I think the only way Moncoutie could have been more carefull was if he had wrapped himself in bubblewrap before the start |

I wonder how Wiggins feels about achieving his highest Grand Tour finish, two months after breaking his collarbone.
Pretty damn good I imagine.
He fared better than other Tour injury guys. Although of course Vandenbroeck had less time, coming off intensive care even.
And far better than f.e.x Nibali who really doesn't have any excuse. Other than the Giro.
But Menchov also did the Giro and did fine here (without lost time in the flat stages Menchov would have been 3rd or 4th) |

Indeed, Wiggins could so easily have dissapointed by being dropped in the mountains far too easily - like the TDF 2010 - but he didnt, instead performing comparably to his Dauphine performance.

Go on then. Explain why you think Wiggins' career best GT result counts as a dissapointment. Im very interested to see how you justify 'your opinion'

The only possible think that could be disappointing is that he+sky didn't give Froome a chance to ride his own race after the ITT. But even that is far fetched as I for instance fully expected Froome to lose minutes in one of the mountain stages |

I walk around with a big smile today. Mollema finished 4th in the GC and took the Green Jersey - That is just impressive!
He lost his 3rd place in GC on Angliru. He was not in the front, as he should. In that moment he knew, that he was going to lose this place at the podium. Beat them next year, Mollema!
Menchov drove a pretty good GC. It is quite impressive, becuase he also helped Cobo. He took to long time to get in the right shape.

Usually, if you voice your opinion in a forum board, you'd think it might be challenged. That's like the whole point of forum boards.

All you said was that he was a dissapointment. How come you dont want to explain why? Did you think from the start that Wiggins was going to win the Vuelta?

What this Vuelta has proven is that there is potential for future Tour de France contenders if they keep performing, Froome, Mollema, Cobo, Wiggins. Going into the Vuelta surely we never expected Mollema, Froome to be up there and expect Cobo wo win the Vuelta.
So therefore I think it has been a fantastic race.
