Meanwhile, I'm trying to figure out if it would be possible to make a full time profession out of my writing-passion (not PCM story writing but real books etc). It's looking kind of grim, though. But maybe I should give it a shot, never know until you try, right? |

A lot of budding authors try writing childrens books to start with to see what they can achieve

Yeah, maybe. If I was to write a book, I thought about writing it in Dutch and in English. However, I think it'll be damn-near impossible getting a book published in English, especially seeing English isn't my native language and I live in Belgium... |

Studying freelance journalism here with the catch being that if it were to become a career, I'd be a deaf writer. I might have something published soon, basically about being able to go to the cinema now as the local Moviebowl (Cinema and Bowling Alley) provides subtitled/captioned films.
Annoyingly, the course materials are seriously outdated. No mention of the internet etc but I didn't think anything of it....... until I got to the section about copyright and defamation. It said "copy right extends across the world except for the Soviet Union"  |

Russia just banned the USA from adopting Russian babies, so a lot of kids don't have homes now that were scheduled to be adopted.

The whole picture is even more pathetic by them. The children part is just a minor aspect of it, if I dare say.
I've read a bit about the Magnistky case, and how it just shows how corrupt the Russian system is (their justice, their government and civil servants) or at least how so many individuals in that system are corrupt.
I must say I'm quite disgusted at how little ethics we (Europeans) have when it comes to trading with them. |
