And the Team Rankings
Was going to post them after lunch and almost forgot
Sky was always going to win this season, and Movistar was expected to take second place. Belkin on third can be called a bit surprising though. They still hold a decent gap to BMC on 4th. Omega Pharma had a great start, but lost a lot of points since. They still stay ahead of Astana, who finish 6th after a great comeback. Team Sagan holds off Radioshack, but it was pretty close. In turn there's only a small gap to Katusha, who had a great season end. Europcar closes the top 10, we welcome them in the World Tour next year!
Garmin has a season with few wins, so 11th is their fate. Saxo underachieved in my opinion, even with Contador's low stats they should do better. Lotto has been number 13 for ages now, though Argos came pretty close in the end. Orica is safe as well, and then we have AG2R, who despite their record 1500 penalty points still have a nice score. Euskaltel did came close in the final races. How close? I'll let you see that for yourself!
On 18 we have Champion System, good season for them! Androni also stays ahead of the relegation teams. Vacansoleil went up a few spots, but there was no escape from the Continental Tour. Next up is Lampre, followed by NetApp and MTN, 2 smaller teams that can be proud of themselves. FDJ is only 24th and the last WT team, we did not see that coming at the start of the season.
Cofidis holds of Bardiani and Colombia, Topsport is the best of the Belgians. On 37 we find Novo Nordisk. Great season for them, finishing ahead of Sojasun and Caja Rural!

The blame for FDJ is almost fully aimed at Pinot and his less than 200points season. Demare and Bouhanni were pretty invisible as well but to a much lesser extent than Thibaut. Without Pal and Cervero we would have been down below Cofidis and Bardini. Big restructure coming but we will come out strong and ready to hit the PCT hard.
Great to have Hanzen aid Sky to the title and he will take BMC to the Top3 next year. Hinault part of the punished AG2R but he can help keep Europcar in the Top10 next year.

So, were AG2R relegated by 3 points? If so, wow.
I take the blame for Novo's points, most of them came in that joke of a race in Malaysia.

23rd, 5th CT team. That's a good sign for next season, hopefully I'll improve slightly. However, team philosophy is more important to me.

I'm so happy right now
Now just to hope that the budget will allow me to get a few solid Basque's in to bolster the squad for next season...

He's old so he better be cheap
Also I just realized that only three riders scored more points than my entire team combined. Not as bad as I had thought actually

Good to see that Team Sagan is 7th. But if not for the other riders in Asia, we'd be 8th. |

Meh 12th... that's really not that great considering the resources available. I agree that we did definitely underachieve, failing to attain a podium in any of the GTs with such a strong GT squad was perhaps the biggest disappointment and we probably won't get quite the budget for transfers we were looking for earlier on in the season.
Anyway a massive thanks to all the reporters and in particular Ollfardh for making the first season run so well! Bring on 2014!

Hanzen vs. Brouwer - The True EPIC Showdown
I bet you thought the season was finished! No, it's only just heated up and now things get serious! In a spectacular (possibly) one-off three day event the two top EPIC riders will go mano e mano to finally settle the question of who is better!
Brouwer set the tone for a season of EPIC rider success in Africa. Hanzen upped the game by making history as the first EPIC rider to lead a Grand Tour. Brouwer raised the bar by making history as the first EPIC rider to win a Grand Tour stage. Hanzen eclipsed that by racking up more wins. Brouwer pushed the limits by finished higher in the rankings. Hazen won more independent awards. They've set and broken almost every EPIC record and achievement this season.
Hanzen and Brouwer will race one-on-one in three different and testing events in three different countries. First up will be possibly the hardest event over the route of next years Milan-San Remo. That will be followed by a top north to the classic route of the GP Plouay. Finally on day three they will tackled a tricky hilly route in Ponferrada.
This is two rivals. This is a season of fighting, a season of success, a season of pain all mounting to one conclusion, one outcome. This is two riders putting everything on the line with nothing at stake but their pride. This is two men answering the unanswerable question. Only one man can finish victorious in this best of three match-up. Only one man can rightfully claim the honor of Best EPIC rider on the road.
Only one man will become Legend

Love it Manx, but next season we will see what EPIC rider finishes top of the rankings. Got some good riders coming through the system.
