Well Hansen is the only guy I genuinely don't mind too much taking points and a win away from Degenkolb

Barquil lost time, seems everybody on Giant blew up, trying to get Lutsenko/Hansen back

At first glance, I thought he was dead
Good something for severe didn't happen, that looked ugly. I dont know what is up with Gilbert, Im genuinely starting to doubt he will be able to do anything in Worlds. But on the other hand, he is a classics rider, he might just be blown as of now. |

Brilliant win for Hensen. Clearly Degenkolb was favourite, no one else will take it up, so Giant should have worked more . |

Hehe. You just looked at the result, didn't you? Just like with the Cancellara/Stuyven situation, didn't you?
Or is he a known troll, guys? I can't make my mind up...

I'll explain you the situation:
Giant worked too much in the wrong moments and before the last climb and Degenkolb was alone on the climb where Hansen attacked.
The only guys that worked on front of the group were Sky, (with apparently no reason except protecting Froome and blah blah blah) and Giant

I did not see whole stage but in last 20 kms I could see only sky and OGE were chasing and despite having 2 riders (other than Degenkolb) they did not bother to chase. Before that maybe Giant have worked hard I don't know. But in last few km they did nothing.
And as far as me being troll? If you don't like my opinion than its fine. But I like to say about sport which I have been watching for more than a decade.
Poor lead out- yes- lead our man had to move over at 200m or so
Poor sprint- yes- could not come by lead out man.
End of discussion. Just because you don't like my opinion does not mean I'm troll. |

Look. Giant worked all stage. You tuned in when the GC teams took over to make sure they're well positioned and no dangerous rider could attack.
Over the climb, two Giant remained who worked their asses off as far as they could (while one of them, Barguil, obviously had to save enough energy to survive in the peloton). The whole fact that there even was a bunch sprint for as high as second place was down to them.
And for the Trek situation, I see it that way: it was a disorganized everyone-for-themselves sprint.
And do you seriously expect that after such a hard stage and in week 3, a first year pro like Stuyven in his first GT ever (which is his first WT stage race as well) could easily use the classics man of the decade, known for matching Greipel of all sprinters in a straight WC sprint three years ago, as a springboard?
I see that 3-4 as a perfect result from the resources they had against two multiple GT stage winners.
Call your view unnpopular opinion, I see it as unjustified which is a difference to me.
