Insane from Denifl. A shame that the break was ahead. But congrats to Indosat, nice to see them so active.
A little shame about Azman losing ground in the KoM race. I hope he will try again in the next stages. |

The Vuelta report was played and written by Tamijo.
He just uploaded couple of his stage reports due to his situation.
Huge thanks for that!
Regarding the stage. Unlucky breakaway winning and on the stage, where Van der Poel could have taken it, he doesn`t join...apparently he only joins on too hard stages, where he then drops instead of Eiking/Hugenhaben.
Hopefully the 3rd week will have my team taking better options. |

Kastrantas with 1-2-3 in this Vuelta. Pretty excited about that tbh. 19th in the GC probably see him no longer attempt to go away though so fighting for KOM will be difficult. Probably for the best though, as the coming stages are all too difficult for him. I'll be rooting for him to give it another two attempts... Stage 17 and 21 could on paper be something for him, while I guess I have to be looking at Bongiorno for the other stages. He's probably too high up the rankings to attempt further. Next stage would be a brilliant setup for the KOM winner - as will stage 18 be.

Congrats tsmoha!
Nice try by Janse van Rensburg. He's not a quick finisher so the solo attack was a good option. This break also propelled him to 18th in GC. He'll gradually drop back down again, but if he tries hard he might actually finish the Vuelta in a decent spot.

Pretty annoyed about all those breakaways succeeding. And pissed because we're not trying to join them

Big preview for week three, thank you for that, and obviously the report as well.
And well, it's crunchtime for Taaramae and our team. Really curious to see how we navigate and handle the red jersey and the pressure that follows. We built this Vuelta team with that in mind, and now is the time to prove it.
Looking at stage 14, this is shaping up to be a big Vuelta for breakaways. How many have we had this far? And surely there'll be more in the final week too. Big congratulations on the stage win, tsmoha! Mosca and Kastrantas also being stellar breakaway riders here. |

Bongiorno is surprisingly weak in these kind of finishes - as is MAL!
I must say that for Bongiorno, though, it likely is because of his KOM efforts. I obviously would have preferred a stagewin over the KOM lead, but if he will actually go out to attempt to win the jersey it's a different matter.
Great great stage for Gazelle today - congrats DD!

Thank you for another in-depth report, Tamijo!
Happy days for breakaways and managers who are in the mix, especially Festina with a great breakaway show in general, getting a lot from Kastrantas and Bongiorno this far. And then there's Gazelle, who must be kings of just that, congratulations, DubbelDekker
To be honest, I rather see us chase breakaways and risk losing 8 more seconds due to Pluchkin winning the stage over this, as it feels like we're nowhere near making the most out of the team here.
And a strong, strong ride from Pluchkin. Suspect this will be interesting all the way with that brutal looking stage 20 as the decider. Hopefully Taaramae can bounce back already on the next stage, as he has proven earlier in this race that he's capable. And looking at how stages finishing downhill play out in general, it feels like stage 16 and stage 20 are the two remaining critical tests, and obviously also the TT. |

This'll be an interesting last few stages! Suspect Taaramae will be strong enough to keep his lead, but seeing Pluchkin being strong like today does certainly give some good hope.

Haig once again losing spots in the heavy mountains. This ain't looking good for the final week then.. We should just keep on going into breakaways. They promise more success

Well, well. Finally with the start of week 3 the best suited rider joins the breakaway.
Olivier doing exactly what was needed from the lowest ranked of my trio.
Kind of a pity that he lost it towards the end and is passed by in especially a Gazelle rider, who have been breakaway kings here and an opponent for the team rankings.
GC wise Olivier hopefully will try to defend and Keinath maybe improve a bit attacking Brambilla next while Velits would be a nice rider for the break now as 17th.
Up to top10 is nice but will be hard to defend, in especially as he might be too high placed for another attempt soon, even though the Giro has shown that also those riders will go for it.
Denifl has to pay for his attempt on the earlier stage it seems while Keinath was having a huge day here finishing 5th best of the GC riders gaining on Tenorio, Keizer, Kudus etc.
Therefore Velits a bit behind but actually still okay. Obviously not ideal to lose on Keizer/Haig/Brambilla but still around what is expected I guess. |

A decent result for Keizer. Let's hope he doesn't have another awful day.

Good stage by Nesset after a couple of not so good stages for us. He looked strong, but probably lacked that big acceleration. Hopefully we'll see both Iturria and Nesset in the break now the coming mountain days.

I dont get Lopez here. Doesnt bother with KOM on previous days at all. Then exhausts himself early to get kom points that dont make a difference and then doesnt bother with later kom sprints. Very weird imo.
