I think you accidentally wrote "loan" next to Tobias Foss's name. Now worries, plenty of time to fix it. Smile

Definitely could be some interest in Amezawa. We may talk in a few days Smile

Amezawa? Hmm, that would happen to be exactly what I need... And Vingegaard just because he's Vingegaard would be very cool too! Smile Let's have a chat Smile

Will be interesting to see if you can bounce back directly. With Rein probably leaving, you should at least have a good chance to get in a leader that can stay with the team for many years to come. One of the riders you're loaning out certainly caught my eye there, we'll probably talk a bit (much) during transfers Wink

Lokking forward to the challenge, that’s for sure! Not confident I’ll bounce back, as much will be decided by how the early transfer season goes, I suspect. Good to hear, and we’ll definitely talk, as it’s no secret I’m still very much interested in several of your riders, like I’ve «always» been Pfft

Feel free to try to fix it! Not sure I see it as broken, though Grin

Interesting! Looking forward to the talks, after all I’m sure Amezawa is attracted of the idea of riding for a home country team.

Really curious to see what kind of interest there will be in Amezawa. Fingers crossed I’ll have offers and talks I’m tempted by Smile Vingegaard could indeed look to be solid, yeah. Especially as I probably won’t have a proper GC rider to serve this season, potentially reducing his value for my team quite a bit.

I guess there's already too much (PT) interest in Amezawa for me to get involved Pfft
But he'd definitely be a great fit as well - I'll probably first look for more local alternatives then Wink But I still wouldn't exclude that we'll have some talks...

Btw, it's a bit sad that both riders that were part of our deal last transfers weren't renewed... (Scully, Freuler). Maybe we should have each kept our initial rider Pfft

@hillis91: I’m looking forward to it!

@Fabianski: Never say never. If the offer is right, I’ll be happy to sell, be it a PT or PCT team Smile

Rein’s Reign is Over

Due to the relegation and now being a Pro Continental Tour team, Aker - MOT sees it as an evil necessity to have Rein Taaramäe available for a transfer. His wage makes it close to impossible to keep him within the team.

It’s a difficult decision. Rein has been brilliant for us, having won the Grand Tour he has participated in both in 2019 and 2020. His 2019 Vuelta win was definitely a highlight. Never before, or after, have we been close to do such a GT with several stage wins and major control om the red jersey.

The relegation from Pro Tour forces us to rebuild our team for the years to come. This means we’ll let Rein leave this transfer season. He’s one of the MG legends, and his abilities and stats should see him be a strong force also this season, challenging for the win in whatever race he enters, be it a Pro Tour or Pro Continental race.

It’s no secret we had a tricky renewals process, ending well above the wage cap. We’ll obviously work this transfer season so that we end it inside the limit. Thus, we hope to have Rein involved in either a trade deal where we get a rider/riders on smaller wages in return, or a money only deal.

2022: Development at Aker - MOT

It's with great joy and pride we present you our three riders who made huge progress in the previous season, 2021. Two of them were loaned out to the best Norwegian team there is in the business, Grieg-Maersk. We can only say thank you to their manager tastasol, as both Niklas Larsen and Ivan Sosa finished their development with them. Both got to taste Pro Tour, and we hope they can build on that, as we're looking to have them as integral part of our team moving on. The same goes for Tobias Foss, who is the third rider to make big progress in the year that has been.
Note: The wages given below are of course their 2021 wages.

Tobias Foss Stage racer 85.000 25 years old OVL: 76,62
2021 FL MO HI TT ST RS RC CB SP AC FI DH PR

2022 FL MO HI TT ST RS RC CB SP AC FI DH PR
69 78 72 76 77 79 79 66 60 69 68 66 72

Tobias Foss is the next diesel stage racer from Norway. In him, we see a rider similar to what Fredrik Strand Galta has been for us for several seasons, although with a much better TT. That makes Foss interesting for future training, as we believe in his potential to become a consistent top 10 stage racer for those week long stage races, but also for a Grand Tour.

Ivan Sosa Climber 110.000 25 years old OVL: 77,84
2021 FL MO HI TT ST RS RC CB SP AC FI DH PR
66 76 76 67 74 78 78 60 59 72 73 66 65
2022 FL MO HI TT ST RS RC CB SP AC FI DH PR
66 78 78 67 75 79 80 60 59 74 75 66 65

Ivan Sosa is an exciting prospect, already for the 2022 season. We hope to see him ride aggressive, and he'll surely be given a lot of freedom to fullfill his potential. It will be interesting to see what kind of races he'll do, but we hope to see him feature in both Grand Tours and difficult week long races.

Niklas Larsen Rouleur 50.000 25 years old OVL: 74,54
2021 FL MO HI TT ST RS RC CB SP AC FI DH PR
75 60 68 72 73 71 76 64 76 75 65 66 78
2022 FL MO HI TT ST RS RC CB SP AC FI DH PR
77 60 68 74 74 73 78 64 77 76 65 66 80

We chose a different development for Niklas Larsen, as we aim for him to be a prologue specialist, who can also put in the work in a future leadout train and on the final kilometers on flat stages and races. We hope to see him get to use his big engine already this season, all it takes will be a great day on the right prologue, and he should be able to fight for Pro Tour top 10 placings.

Glad you are going the other way than us back up to PT if you're going to have riders like that - especially don't need those two beating Higuita to U25 jerseys next year Pfft Awesome (both 79RES!) duo for the next decade, will be very interesting to follow.

The two first riders are obviously going to be amazing riders whether they're going to be lieutenants off stronger captains or with a little training be captains of their own!

I love to see Niklas Larsen maxed, what a rider he is.

jandal7: Would definitely be great if both Foss and Sosa can pick up U25 points this season. I suspect they'll be needed in the fight to avoid relegation! Pfft

hillis91: Fingers crossed we can find the needed money to train him when the time for that comes.

whitejersey: Suspect Foss will need quite a lot of training to become a PT captain. The same goes for Sosa, but his ceiling is higher as it stands now, I think. Agree on Niklas Larsen, the challenge is that we lack a sprinter he can serve as a leadout and key domestique Pfft

Aker - MOT Renewals

Renewals were once again tricky for Aker - MOT, but after the last dot of ink was written, team manager ember was fairly happy with the result.

Below follows the team as it stands before the transfer season. As you'll see, Aker - MOT are down to 16 riders, as several riders agreed to leave during the negotiations. Who knows, some of them might be tempted to return, depending on how the transfer season plays out.

Thank you a lot to knockout for making the tool for an easy overview of the riders available!

As usual, all riders could be for sale, if the right money offer, trade, or some kind of trade and money offer is given. Having said that, there are some riders who are more likely to leave than others.

Fredrik Strand Galta is looking to shine elsewhere. The Norwegian stage racer where brilliant in the Grand Tours in both 2018 and 2019, before he and the rest of the team were poor in 2020, when we relegated. Back in the PCT, he has found his legs again, but now he's seeking for a new challenge.
Ivan Sosa is also a rider who might look to see if he can get a more defined role in another team, as his role with Aker - MOT is still unclear. Perfect for stage hunting in Grand Tours, a potential star with training, or just a key lieutnant who also enjoys himself when given the chance to ride for his own chances. It's not that weird that we're not sure how to make best use of him, and Sosa is slightly worried due to that, and might look to excel elsewhere.
Davide Ballerini could also be a rider who might want to find a new home. Admittedly, team manager ember thought he was going to be a gem in the PCT, but that might have been a level too high for him to make the most of chances to get a result. He could be looking to lead the line in the CT, as he should fit well for flat races which still has some small hills.

As stated above, those three are the riders who in particular are looking for a new team, but all riders could be sold, swapped for the right discussion and offer.

baseballlover312
Shocked to see Galta on the block! Not that it doesn't make sense from a strategic perspective. You have a lot of good young stage races and climbers on the rise here, and Galta hasn't quite lived up to his best the last couple of years. But I figured he would be an Aker lifer.

Galta on the block is a huge shift, seconding the notion from BBL here, I honestly expected him to be a rider that was kept through thick and thin! Both him and Sosa are probably going to be the center of a good level of interest I don't expect that you will struggle to offload them at all!
