Podium
1) Michal Kwiatkowski
2) Peter Sagan
3) Julian Alaphilippe
Kwiatkowski pulled off an unlikely win in the first Monument of the year, out-sprinting Sagan at the line, with Alaphillipe coming home in a close third place. Only Sagan was picked by our participants, with everyone barring Marcovdw and Croatia having picked him for a podium. The remaining members get 20 points each for Sagan's second place (double points for a Monument).
Stay tuned for the rest of the results...

Dwaars door Vlaanderen Results
Podium
1) Yves Lampaert
2) Philippe Gilbert
3) Alexey Lutsenko
Just when it seemed that everyone would draw a blank in this race, Croatia came up with his Lutsenko pick to claim the only points in this race and take home the win. A topsy turvy race with a wildly unexpected outcome results in the lowest ever scoring race in Grand High Wizard history. Durbridge's 4th place finish nearly made Croatia seem like a genius
Stay tuned for the rest of the results...

Podium
1) Greg van Avermaet
2) Philippe Gilbert
3) Oliver Naesen
A better scoring race for most members involved. A total of six contestants picked GVA as one of the podium finishers and were rewarded with 20 points for first place. Selwink with the only pick for Naesen got points for third place, himself taking third place in this race. Jandal and Marcovdw picked both GVA and Gilbert, giving themselves the win here. The most popular pick, Peter Sagan, crashed out of contention and disappointed seven people. There were a total of four zero scores!
Stay tuned for the rest of the results...

Podium
1) Greg van Avermaet
2) Jens Keukeliere
3) Peter Sagan
GVA picked up back to back victories following his win in E3, justifying Raziz and Marcovdw's decisions to pick him. Raziz also picked Sagan for a podium and this combination gives him the win in this race. Marco picks up second place while everyone else who predicted besides Croatia pick up 5 points for Sagan, again the most popular pick.
Stay tuned for the rest of the results...

Volta Ciclista a Catalunya
Podium
1) Alejandro Valverde
2) Alberto Contador
3) Marc Soler
A dominant win from Valverde gives six participants 20 points while Contador obliges his 7 pickers with 10 points. Another favourite pick of members - Froome - disappointed as he lost over 26 minutes on stage 6, finishing 30th. Just a 0 too many to score points.
The only one to get the bonus question right was Raziz, who picked Valverde to finish highest amon the big 3 (froome, Contador and Valverde) competing here. He also picks up the win here so round out a good week for him.
The updated table after last week's frantic action is as follows:
Name | Races Entered | Bonuses | Total Points | Raziz | 12 | 100 | 315 | emre99 | 12 | 80 | 280 | jandal7 | 11 | 120 | 270 | Selwink | 12 | 80 | 260 | AbhishekLFC | 11 | 100 | 235 | Marcovdw | 12 | 60 | 230 | purepasd | 12 | 80 | 225 | Luxemburger | 7 | 40 | 115 | Croatia14 | 12 | 80 | 105 | Squire | 4 | 60 | 100 | Aquarius | 6 | 20 | 100 | trekbmc | 2 | 0 | 0 |
Raziz jumps three places to become our new leader as Jandal's miss in Catalunya possibly costs him his lead. The latter drops down to third place with Emre holding on to second. There is a gap opening up now between fourth place Selwink and fifth placed AbhishekLFC, who is in a three way battle himself with Marco and Purepasd for position. At the bottom, Croatia's insistence on eccentricity, while spectacular to commentate on, isn't bearing the results that he would be hoping for, except for one glorious exception and two very near misses this past week.
We'll be back again soon with the next couple of races. Stay tuned...
