How can you know he peaked for it last year? Because he won it doesn't mean he peaked..and we know what happend in Gent last year. He was looking in prime condition until that crash.
Not sure why you mention positioning, he was perfectly placed, it was he that made the selection and then punctured at the end of the berg which cost him the whole race. (he was in good position before Taaienberg as well where he got the first puncture and had to get back). Still Sep would probably have lost the race somehow if he made that group, as he said today and happens so often, the strongest doesn't always win.
Because Omloop Het Nieuwsblad suits him best. That's why I think he picks this race as the main one and plays 2nd fiddle to Thomas and Wiggins on the rest of the classics. He's not the best on the berg's you could see that today as strong as he was he struggled a bit.
Bad positioning I'm talking about earlier in the race. He had to play catch-up and used up some energy, obviously that didn't help him did it?
Your statement adds to why it makes perfect sense for him to peak for Robuaix, no?
Roubaix is a totally different race to any other.

Only Lefevere can use that excuse, and that's only because he needs something to defend his team performance, no one else (I give 9/10 for the pun though;D)

I dont see how you can call it a fuckup by Ettix when Stannard was that much stronger. He is either on 40 gallons of EPO or the Ettix boys were not on anything.
In the end a 3-1 doesnt really have any advantage if all 3 are not stronger than the 1.
The fucking sprint was a complete disaster however and that is all on Terpstra.

11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Stannard was the whole last 40k in the slipstream of three guys, who rode to keep Vanmarcke and GVA away. Quick Step didn't test him once before the final nor did they particularly care about him it seems. Plenty of road & time to reserve energy for the finish, but yes, of course just say EPO and be done with it sigh

Sep is testing everyone on Kwaremont. Tommeke and Boeckmans only ones to respond. A wild Styby appears |

I was only naming riders I could recognise on the front of the group and yes I might be behind because I'm using a stream. |

At the moment, a big group with "sprinters" (or fast riders) at the front, and a peloton (which won´t catch the head) behind, no?
Could you tell me who is in the head?
Cav, Viviani, Kristoff, Coquard, Styby, Tommeke, Stannard... who else?
