Sky winning a proper bunch finish with some decent competition around in a post Cavendish team...whatever next?
Great result for Viviani, hopefully he'll get some decent backing and pick up some wins this year. |

And with their own train
I seriously am struggling to think of another time their train worked like this. All I can think is the TDF stage where Wiggins (in yellow) came to the front of the peleton and pulled it for a while.

Ah, haven't seen it yet, though Twitter implied some decent work by Eisel and Swift in particular. Yes, I imagine it would be way back to 2012. |

Well considering Sky hasn't had a high-end sprinter since Cavendish i would be surprised to see proper sprint-train end in a win for them. Frankly i would be surprised if they had won with their own train for that given reason of not having a sprinter.
Anyway a good win for Viviani, could be a very nice partnership for him and Sky

Yes, they've pretty much only had Swift so probably a good bit of diversification with Viviani's arrival - there's nothing like wins for motivation and to relieve a bit of pressure. |

Valggren with a nice 9th on a sprint stage. Hopefully he will hava a good spring campaign which probably will net him a Tour spot since Bjarne Riis has big praise for him. |

Jans backing up his strong end of season form there. I wonder if he can keep it up this season.

No crazy 21-man breakaways spicing things up today, so Caleb Ewan wins Stage 2 of the Herald Sun Tour from a bunch sprint ahead of Steele Von Hoff.
There was a spill in the peloton during the sprint and despite it Brenton Jones managed to finish fifth.
Here is a vine of the sprint finish:

Must be added though, that behind Marcato and Jans the third rider from Cofidis crashes pretty much left those two Wanty riders alone in the front.
Jans just had to follow Marcato before starting the sprint and winning with quite a gap.
That said, he still has the speed to win also a bunch sprint in such a field. |

Lobato in 3rd. Probably the fastest guy in the last meters.
Strange top 10. Pozzato's back again? Canola and Bookwalter are certainly surprising names.

Degenkolb takes the lead obviously but Cavendish is 2nd with 4'' back and tomorrows a sprint so it will be very interesting. |

Going to be in for an interesting final stage tomorrow with Degenkolb in the overall lead by about four seconds. The man understandably laid out gasping for air after that 'sprint', took over 10 seconds to power up that wall of an ascent and started needing oxygen as part of the chemical reaction providing energy to the muscles.
