Taylor Phinney going to need a monster negative split after coming in +32" down on Bradley Wiggins' intermediate time.

You definitely have to apply for a commentator, Malkael. I am serious.

Not sure what to say, but, mmm, the outcome of a bunch sprint is the result of several factors.
Raw power is one, of course, and that's where form will intervene, but there are many more : an aerodynamic position (see Cav vs Kittel for an example), being in the peloton at the end of the stage, being skilled enough to battle for position, having a good leadout or the skill or chance to pick the proper wheel, luck (not falling, not being boxed in, etc.), wishing to take part in the sprint too, which often concerns a dozen of riders per race at best.
Then, to go 1% faster you need like 3% more power, but the other way round, with 90 % of the power you'll still achieve like 97 % of the top end speed.
Thus a sprinter in a mediocre shape can still get a good result. |

Any climber time? TV just cover the "notables" and Wiggins seem to be the only GC contender. How much time has Tiago Machado lost? And Zubeldia? |

How on earth is this possible? +32?! Fuck Sky.
I forgot the names but some guy on twitter said Sky should be asked about two products in particular.
To be added to that : it took a serious one year diet to Wiggo to reach his winning TDF weight, now in just the time of a blink he's lost many kg to reach that top weight again. I'm not saying it's 100 % impossible, but at times you hear there's prohibited stuff to lose a lot of weight in no time, you've to raise an eyebrow if you have half a brain. |

24'10" for Taylor Phinney across the finishing line, some +52" seconds down on the time of Bradley Wiggins. So it looks like a podium of Wiggins, Dennis and Phinney.

Have we just been overrating Phinney or is he maybe getting worse at TT while he works to improve on the classics? I feel like he is drifting further and further away from the elite TT riders.

I don't think we have been overrating him, he has the results to back up his prowess. I don't know the facts but maybe it's something he hasnt worked on. |

Where the hell can i see the results so far? Official site is down, television keep showing yesterday "notables" time and from today i only got the top 5. Now looking at the sprinters time trialing, hmm this is great |

Tiago Machado (Netapp) finished with a time of 24'37", some +1'19" down on the time of Bradley Wiggins. A provisional 7th place for the Portuguese rider currently.

It seems Dennis will be 2nd again.
It would be 4th 2nd place for him out of 5 of last TT stages he participated in.
It would also be his 7 2nd place in TT stages (including prologues) as a Garmin rider, but still no wins in TT. Pretty hillarious I would say. |

He's not on form

Big thanks to jdog for making this AMAZING userbar!

Think I have covered the notable names for the GC now. Be interesting to see how Eloy Teruel goes but his climbing results don't scream "surprise competitor" to me.
23'18" Bradley Wiggins
+44" Rohan Dennis
+1'19" Tiago Machado
+1'21" Markel Irizar
+2'10" Haimar Zubeldia
+2'16" Matthew Busche
+2'19" Adam Yates
+2'20" Laurens Ten Dam
+2'21" Tom Danielson
+2''30" Peter Stetina
+2'39" Janier Acevedo
