Bouhanni rumoured to announce a transfer for Cofidis after the NC, consecutively to not being picked in FDJeux's TDF squad. |

What? Cofidis? Seriously? I'm not sure if that'd be the best move for his career...

At least he'd get automatic selection, leadership, and support for the Tour. Which is what he wants.

He's one of the best sprinters in the world, he could get that at most WT teams.

Might not get the support part. A lot of teams will be much more preoccupied with the GC.

Can't see that as a better move for him. |

Why not? If they bring in a decent leadout, this could be dangerous. A complete team just working for him, he needs a great leadout aswell.
Cofidis always makes it to the Tour, and with Bouhanni on the squad they might get invited to all most every race
Present:
Tinkoff-Saxo - AG2R - Colombian riders
Past:
Francisco Mancebo - Illes balears - Carlos Sastre - Kelme - Robbie McEwen

Third of WT teams have better sprinters than him and rest probably would not be keen to focus everything on sprinter, as GC is the key for them. Cofidis would be interesting, but i think he will have more offers, so we will see.

He has too leave because he's getting too expensive for FDJeux, they've chosen to keep Démare instead.
He was never in the team's plan for this year's TDF, but he tried to force his way in, by showing a very good form recently.
Cofidis ? Why not, as said : they don't have G.C. riders (none that'd be more of a leader than a sprinter like Bouhanni at least), and he'll most likely be coming with his train (Sébastien Chavanel is his usual lead out).
He had many more offers a few months ago, but decided to pick between three of them : FDJeux, Cofidis and a 3rd one. I tend to think it's a French of French speaking one, as I can't remind hearing him in another language anyway. Just guessing but it may have been AG2R. |

Never liked Bouhanni. I much rather prefer to watch Démare at TdF. Bouhanni got his Giro run and now Démare is getting his. I don't know why is he throwing his toys out of pram. Just goes to show what kind of personality he is. |

Cofidis like all team are always secret hope to be involved at tour GC.
I dont think they will go 100% behind Bouhanii and rebuild a all team. |

Both Trek and BMC rumoured to be interested in Nikolas Maes. OPQS is aiming for a renewal though. |

If Talansky goes to Sky I will actually chop my head off.
But I honestly can't see why he would go. he has full leadership of Tour with some support at Garmin now, his home country team. And while Sky have money, Garmin have plenty to offer him as maybe the most talented American in the sport right now.
He would go to Sky for a slightly bigger paycheck and ride support his whole career? unlikely. I feel like there are a ton of rumors to Sky but they won't get everyone.

That's a bigger possibility, but I also don't see how that would happen.
Garmin have a couple of declining guys and a couple have retired the last year. They have spots freed up, with a good budget, leadership, and an American license.
I'm fairly sure they would match any offer of another team.

I'm fairly sure BMC and Sky have the money to outbid Garmin. I remember Vaughters complaining something like 2 years ago that he didn't have the money to keep all of his guys (so he lost Wiggins, Hushovd and Vanmarcke among others in the process). I'm not sure if much has changed since then. Their only really big transfers in the team's history were Hushovd and Haussler following the Cervelo marriage in 2011. Other than that, they only hire young riders or more experienced, decent riders, but not real stars (like real top3 contenders for GTs and monuments or sprinters capable of winning TdF stages) by any meaning. Langeveld was probably their biggest signing in the last 3 years- that says it all.
Certainly being American team helps, but there are also other American teams that could probably offer better money. You say declining guys, but Hesjedal is on a contract through 2015, probably a big one, as a Giro winner. Danielson also has the contract for 2015. If they want to keep Martin, they need to pay him quite a lot as well. Only Millar's retirement will be some relief to the budget, but will it be enough to give Talansky a pay rise which he certainly deserves? I'm not sure.
And there are also rumours about Wiggins joining Garmin, no doubt he would take a fair share of the salary budget for himself.
I give it 60% that he leaves, and 40% that he stays in Garmin for the next year. I would say BMC would be the most likely destination, but luckily they have Van Garderen- a simillar type of rider of the same nationality- conflict of interest assured. Is TJVG contracted for 2015?

If Talansky is dumb enough to go to Sky for a little more money he is crazy.
In terms of Danielson, surely the contract he has signed since Vaughters said that was cheaper than it was then.
Sky could outbid. But BMC is a huge conflict of interest with TVG. Both need to go to the Tour, because the parcours of the other GTs don't favor them well, and why would either settles for co leadership?
Talansky will get a raise from Garmin for sure. He gets full leadership in the Tour de France for the biggest American team in the sport (BMC is like half Swiss).
Logically that should be enough.

I hope you're right. I'm kinda sick of all of those guys leaving the team after riding there at a young age and then leaving before they reach their peak.
How much more interesting for me could those cobbled classics be if Vanmarcke would still be there... |
