Tour of Qatar Last Stage
After an incredible week for our team in Qatar, we´re finishing this tour today. Another sprint final is expected and maybe the next win for Cavendish. All in all our main goal is to avoid a crash or something strange.
10km to go on a very sunny day in the desert. Our sprint train worked perfectly for another time this week. Cavendish was able to save enough energy through the whole stage, just like Boonen.
5 kilometres later it was only Hushovd, who was able to follow us. Terpstra and Vermote rode an incredible pace. That was looking great for us.
But always watch out! The German Giant duo wasn´t done with this tour. They came fast from behind, after the were blocked some kilometres before.
Finally the sprint was opened up by Trentin, who did a great job in his white jersey. Boonen took the lead with Cavendish and Kittel on his slipstream.
What a great sprint finish this was. Cavendish made his move in his own agressive style with Marcel Kittel right next to him. Tom Boonen was still fast enough to sprint for another great position, too. Come on Cav, only 300 metres to go!
Yes! What a brilliant way to finish the best tour of my life! That was a pretty close sprint final to be honest, Kittel did a great job but Cav is just too strong these days. Almost unbeatable, except this single stage, where Mark missed the right moment. Boonen took the 4th place. Special thanks to him and the whole team for some amazing sprint preperations. A great week for Omega!

Thanks to all of you guys. You really keep me motivated with all these support! That was indeed an amazing effort by the team in Qatar.
Tour Méditerranéen Stage 3
First stage after the great time trial by Tony Martin, which brought him the yellow jersey. For sure the following stages are pretty tricky for us to defend that position but we´ll try our best. Let´s go!
Just like in stage 1, we were successful with sending Pauwels into the break. There was only Diego Mílán on his side. Of course our goal was to get the pointed jersey since there were many chances to collect enough points.
It totally worked out for us as Pauwels got many points and the KoM jersey for tomorrow! The pack missed the chance to bring them back earlier this afternoon. Because of that it was up to Pauwels and Míláno to take this stage. Then with a bit more than 20 kilometres left, Pauwels asked for another bottle of water, when Míláno suddenly attacked on a little downhill.
Some more action behind them in the pack with Mollema and Fabian Cancellara attacking on the last climb. Remember Cancellara was only 8 seconds behind Martin in the general classification. We had to chase them now!
And our team did that! Martin, Uran, Serry and an incredible Stybar. He did an unreal job, chasing Mollema and Cancellara on the last 10 kilometres. And we got them back but who´s gonna take that stage?`
The stage went to Míláno! His move was just too clever and too strong for Pauwels, who tried everything to get back to him but without any chance since he was just absolutely empty in the end. Even the pack got really close to him on the final kilometre.
There´s the pack and Pauwels just managed to stay in front, finishing on a great second place. Gallopin won the bunch sprint with Maes finishing on a brilliant 5th position! Uran and Martin also managed to end this stage inside the Top 15. The jersey is still by Tony!

Tour Méditerranéen Stage 4
Our team is expecting a pretty hard stage finish today with a hard climb in the end. Might be very tricky to defend our jersey as Martin isn´t the best climber here. Biggest favourite for today should be Froome but also Uran could do well here.
First real attack of this day came by Mollema. He forced Pinot and Cataldo to follow him. We decided to stay in the pack for a moment.
Castroviejo was the next one, starting an attack. He reached the leading group with Mollema, Pinot and Cataldo quickly and with ease.
Our team kept the pace pretty high but Tony Martin had already some problems as the speed was pretty high. We had to react quickly and so it was up to Uran to try his luck since he felt strong enough.
More action. This time by Peraud, who was trying to get into the first group. Only a few kilometres were left and Martin was still in the pack while Uran got into the leading group.
That was the leading group with Mollema, Pinot, Peraud, Cataldo and Uran. He tried to slow down a bit to give Tony Martin the chance to reach this group.
We had to wait a bit for that move but now it was time for Chris Froome. A strong ride by him but is it enough to win this stage or was it too late to reach the first group?
What a great effort by Tony Martin. He really gave everything he had in his legs today. Uran was still in front but is Martin able to defend that jersey?
Final kilometre for the leaders. Pinot and Mollema were out of this sprint final while Uran pulled that sprint from the leading position. Can he hold on?
Oh my, Peraud came really fast just like Cataldo. Uran still had enough speed to sprint for the stage win here. But where is Tony Martin?
There he came. He was still some seconds behind Froome and almost a minute behind Uran, Peraud and Cataldo. Right now, the yellow jersey was lost.
The stage was taken by Peraud. Uran lost it on the final metres but still a great effort by him today. Cataldo finished in second position but the final question was: How many seconds will Martin loose?
Tony Martin finished on a good 7th position in the end. Unfortunately he lost 1 minute and 10 seconds to Peraud and Cataldo. Peraud takes the leader´s jersey and even Cataldo passed us there.
