Fantastic sprint train from Festina, Guerao is on the rampage mode, congrats SotD!
Now i want to see some fireworks from Cunego, he needs to attack and higlight the next stages.

Finally took the chance to catch up.
Schleck climbing well but PCM12 really isnt suiting him. First mountain stage as great to see Claerebout and Medvedev lasting so long, before Samwel remembered his job the day after. A bit frustrating that he hasn't pulled off a really big result.
Ponzi and Guerao really are shining in this race.
And of course, some great reports

Lol, what happened to Kelderman?? Only chance of a decent KoM position gone too.
I really hope we can keep those 8 guys together to win the sprint finishes that are left. We really have to.

A wasted chance there for another stage win, and to get back in the lead of the points. Letting Cunego take maximum points is not a good idea on a stage perfectly suited for Ponzi. Bad move Wiggle-ites. Bad move. |

Hmm, not a nice stage for my team either. At least Nepomnyachsniy tried to show my jerseys at the front. The dream is Henao will be ok for the next stage and will try to get himself into the brekaway. The realistic scenario is to have Kulhavy or Nepo there...

I really hoped Ponzi and Brajkovic would have stayed clear right there, but at least Pluchkin stays in yellow. These next two stages are massive in terms of the overall win. If Pluchkin can stay in yellow the next two stages he has a really nice shot to extend his lead in the time trial. This is nerve-wrecking Come on Pluchkin!

This is proving to be an amazing duel, Pluchkin still with his nose out in front but now just a bonification away from losing that jersey, always dangerous with Madrazo and Cunego around.
Pleased with SrBs activity, no dice there but still going for it and when you look at the withdrawals there we still have a good compliment of riders.

What an amazing read, so much action. Feel bad for nico with Pluchkin getting a flat at the wrong time but that's cycling. Not much happening for my boys but we are doing a lot better then our PCT counterpart so that's cool.

Poor Pluchkin, good racing from the other favourites though. Pinot is slowly but surely ensuring that I'll have no chance of buying him, although I doubt I could anyway. |

Can't help but feel sorry for BandO and Pluschkin. I bet someone can't comment here on a few days as he threw his computer out the window...

Uhg.. Real shame about Pluchkin. Glad to see Amador is holding strong as best of the non podium guys though. The team has been really disappointing, no one in breaks and no one to help Amador.

Terrible luck for Pluchkin, hopefully he can go out there and light up the final week and take a stage win. It looked like this year may finally be his year.

Medvedev My team aren't always big on the whole breakaway thing, but a perfect stage for Medvedev to join the break with only B&O to chase for much of the stage. Great to take a stage win from the race. Would be interesting to see where he places in the KoM competition now - those standings are the only thing missing from an otherwise faultless report.
Not sure what to think about Schleck. It's good that he is willing to be aggressive, but going too early saw him eventually lose time. Ironic that while he has now moved up to the podium, he is further away from hopes of winning the race.
But horrible for Pluchkin. Was hoping to see him pull off victory since it seemed unlikely for Schleck. He still has time to make back time, but B&O needing a big points scoring race here, and couldnt really afford any loss.

Wow, what terrible luck for Pluchkin. Definitely not the way I wanted to beat him. Apart from that not loosing time to Cunego is good. I "just" need to pass him in the TT then hold on.

It looks like that Cunego has a crashing aura.
Either he crashes and still wins like at the Giro seasons before or other favourites crash like at Tirreno and Cunego wins (or does profit from that bad luck).
But this race isn't over yet I hoped for a nice podium fight with Madrazo and Pluchkin. Now it seems it is Madrazo and A. Schleck.
I am concerned that Cunego is always reeling the favourites in so I guess when he does no one of my mountain goats are at his group.. :S
