"I love him, I think he's great. He's transformed the sport in so many ways. Every person in cycling has benefitted from Lance Armstrong, perhaps not financially but in some sense" - Bradley Wiggins on Lance Armstrong
Have you already seen people suspended for tax evasion ?
I guess it's going to affect his career badly. 8 months without doing any cycling, and barely doing any sport is going to harm his performances. Will take more than one season for him to come back to a strong level.

If he ever does. He's 31 and has been performing well in the biggest races for over 10 years. Seems to have been in constant decline ever since 2009.

No but in Belgium any sentence under 2 years is automatically suspended. You can only go to prison if you're convicted for 2 years and 1 day (a very common sentence here)
Yesterday morning the judge hearing the Bassano has sentenced the 32-year old athlete to eight months imprisonment with a suspended sentence for tax evasion of more than 700 thousand Euros relating to tax year 2008 and 2009.
Ah, it is just a suspended sentence? Well despite having no knowledge of Italian law, I doubt he will serve much, if any, time in prison then. Unless he does something stupid and breaks his probation.

Matschinger just crushed all the Dutch their annoying clean sport dreams
He says cycling is NOT cleaner that it was earlier this century. Full interview coming up later this evening. (hopes he has the balls to attack Sky)

Matschinger??? Come on, who even believes that guy? This is probably because the Dutch justice court spoke negative verdict about him and his Danish chicken-buddy....
He also told that he doesn't believe that Contador is clean, because once a doper, always...
Anyway, no single proof, just words from a guy that earned his money of distributing doping...

It doesn't really matter what he says. Fans (dutch or not) will believe what they want to believe anyway. I'm really annoyed by the naivety of most people on Wielerflits and the dutch press. But I don't thinks it's only dutch people being that naive

Exactly.
"Oh, because that one guy says it's not cleaner, it has to be so!"
Any fool can stand up and say something, that's freedom of speech for you. Too bad it's almost exclusively fools that get the attention from the masses.
