As I see it that is not really the problem. The problem is that Noval, Paulinho and maybe even Bennati was chosen over Nicki and Chris when both have proven themselves year after year, and both riders have been preparing for the Tour specifically.
Noval is just plain bad. Paulinho has probably been chosen because of the team time trial, even though both danes were stronger than him in every other terrain in last years Tour.
I think Bennati has been chosen for the similar as Tosatto which is okay, and he will probably also be useful if they have to defend the jersey on flat stages. Nicki could probably do the same job almost as good and be more useful in rolling terrain too.
Believe me, I understand. I was just explaining.
And yeah, Riis always has someone like that. First Guidi, then Lombardi, then O'Grady, then Tosatto, now Bennati. It's for his experience in the flat stages to keep the team alert to wind, breaks and when to save energy.

And how will you feel when he's snubbed this year?

Yeah but Tosatto is still there though. But i think Bennati can prove to be very useful, especially if they have to defend. |

Well he raced the Giro so I can't complain. Also there was no expectation of him racing it this year, as opposed to last year where he raced the Dauphine with the Sky TDF team.

Sending Danny Van Poppel to the Tour is really stupid imo. They better take him out after one week.
Devolder is quite dissapointed that he is not selected for the Tour. Said the only reason Didier is in is because he is from Luxembourg.

Devolder is old, and not as able a rider as Didier in the mountains... Logical choice in my opinion!

Devolder is an idiot, a jackass and a crap rider since the bio passport was intrduced.
Taking DvP on the other hand is not a good decision. Too young. Might ruin him.

Didier>>>Devolder in the mountains. But quite a step forward for Didier. From Rohreggers and Fuglsangs helper at Tour of Austria to the TdF team. I think he is quite happy with that. |

isso was talking about Van Poppel. Didier is almost 29
As for Devolder, I've never liked him - and comments like that doesn't exactly make me change my opinion.

If I ever got to interview Devolder my first question, with a huge grin on my face would be
"I'm curious.
Tell me, is it only because you're very aware you would never have won the Ronde if you didn't have Boonen as a teammate, or are there other reasons why you're an angry bitter person?"

You say you don't like him but a comment that talks bad about him doesn't make you change your opinion? |

He was 33rd in the 2010 Giro and a Domestique in 2011 for Contador...
You cant say that it is a big leap forward for him since hes been a GT Domestique for the last 3 years...

Yup, he could win TDF and RVV in the same year
In all seriousness, no matter how he won it, winning RVV twice is a strong achievement. There's probably better riders than him that never won it once, so the guy does deserve some credit for what he did.
But yeah, Devolder would be a better choice to help the team leader. Didier will probably climb to fast for Andy
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

I think we all know how he won them
The only credit I give him is that he hasn't been caught....... Yet

No surprises. However thankfully they didn't bring Eisel this time. Superb team as expected.
