Lets agree to disagree on genocide in the Bible, this is not going anywhere from this point.
No.
If you think genocide is tolerable, simply because a higher being says it's OK, something is seriously wrong with you.
How about genocides committed by alternative religions?
Not a higher being; the highest, to whom we owe everything.
I made my point, you made yours, I will not answer any more critical questions about this.
So we have an obligation to God. But what about God's obligation to Man? What God slaughters his children because they broke rules he set, when he made it so his children would always break these rules?
@TMM - Nobody should be forced to go to sermons etc.
According to Neillster, it's their obligation as good Christians to spread the gospel and save the unbelievers from hell (as far as I understood him). So according to his strict view (that probably the boarding school director shares), yes, they should be forced to...
No, I wouldn't say force them to sit through a service. This should be more of a talking one on one with them about the gospel. By all means have the services, but don't force anyone to go to them.

I just couldn't believe this. I spent the final 2 years there arguing about it with the Reverend and the Deputy Head. But of course i lost.
Unfortunately, your school was actually following UK law.

We're one of the most secular countries in the world, despite the fact we legally aren't. Separation of church and state will come eventually.
We did. He lost and was sentenced to death. Crazy Russians.

A note: I was baptized catholic because my grandmother insisted. I was 4 years old. After they dipped my head in the water I proceeded to sploosh the priest with it and yell something like "how do YOU like it?".
Or so my parents tell me. I was too young to remember it.

If the priest was called John, I'm calling you the least inspiring second coming imaginable

1) You must be the antichrist
2) Spanish inquisition? I don't have anything to do with that, I'm Protestant, not Catholic (especially Spanish Catholic and Dutch Protestant don't fit together well )
On a more serious note, that was wrong interpretation and violation of the Ten Commandments by the Spanish.

There are a few sets of commandments in the Bible. None of which number exactly ten

I know, but it was just a response to the Spanish Inquisition in general.
