should i not have quoted him, i mean i gave him credit and I thought that what I quoted was very true
The problem was that, yeah, it was an excellent line, but we want you to come up with your own application, not bastardise other peoples.
Your specific example was fine, given you attributed the quote, but if the next ten apps had also used the same quote, then that rather would have ruined to process.
It was the straw that broke the camels back, but the camel had severe osteoporosis.
Basically, in general, we don't want people quoting other applications, so once you did it, it then had to be stopped. However your specific example wasn't particularly bad in of itself.
This is obviously just my opinion, other reports/admins may feel otherwise.

Everyone is available so if you would get all of them maybe they will get you that championship
I think next year De la Fuente will take it on a similar route.

Thanks. I'll post it here I guess.
Spoiler How much do you currently know about the management game?
I know all the basics. You have a team and you make managerial descisions based on your team, then the races are raced by a reporter team and results are taken. Managers update threads for their teams.
Why do you want to join the game?
Why wouldn't I? I've been interested in joining since I first became a member. Being in the management game is an honour, that you have been able to contribute enough to the site to be able to call yourself a manager. Combine that with the sheer fun of it, and I'm in.
How do we know that you will be active?
You can take my word. I am borderline obsessed with PCM during the cycling season, so me being active should not be a problem there. Just look at the amount of time I put into this site all season to see that. I check the site daily, even if I don't post, and if I don't meat standards to the man-game operators I will surely accept an eviction,. I certainly don't plan on that happening.
If selected, how do you intend to manage your team?I assume you mean how would I build use my team? I would want a balanced team. I would have one clear GC leader, but also even support so that I can compete with multiple classes of races without wasting resources. I would use my teams resources and put time into my thread with mock press releases and transfer news. At the end of every season I would assess my results and try to improve my team. I guess anyone would do these things, but I hope that I can fit the bill. If I do, I promise I will put as much work into this as I possibly can and more,, because I know that participating in the man-game is not a privledge.

I would. If only to help others for the future. (just post it here if that's all right).
EDIT cio93:
DaBobScotts application
Spoiler How much do you currently know about the management game?
I've followed the management game on and off the last season (whooo! Madrazo!) and it's something that I'm interested in taking on. I've still got a little bit to work out with signatures of riders for the D2 category, and am anxious to see who is out of a contract for the next season.
Why do you want to join the game?
I have thoroughly enjoyed the management of teams in PCM, and am eager to have my hand at managing a team that is competing against other people, as opposed to AI. The fact that managers can also attempt to outbid others in an attempt to sign that rider also appeals to me; who wants that rider the most?
How do we know that you will be active?
Whilst I have disappeared from posting on the forum in recent times (yay! year 12!), I have still been monitoring the forum. Unfortunately I don't have anything to support me here (i.e. no long term stories or anything) so you are just going to have to trust me
If selected, how do you intend to manage your team?
Well, first things first; don't get kicked out of D2 in the first season. I plan to slowly, over many seasons, work my way towards World Tour, but to get there I need to be able to get results and at least stay within D2.
To do this, I plan on targeting a country that is going to provide the ManGame with a lot of talent for the future, and build my team up from younger riders. It won't be just U23's or U25's, but a majority of them would be at this point in time.
All that of course, is if I get selected.
Thanks for considering this application.

Just posting mine here incase anyone's interested.
Spoiler How much do you currently know about the management game?
I have spent a lot of time over the past month or so reading up about how the management game works, after realising that it was coming towards the end of the season. I wanted to get a good understanding of how it works before trying to join in the off season which I realised would be shortly after I joined. Now that time has come round and it’s possible to make applications to join in the bottom division I feel I know just enough about the game to be able to participate whilst I hope to gain knowledge on the rest through participation or though continued reading of the various threads and forums throughout the season.
Why do you want to join the game?
I want to join the game because it’s almost exactly like what I would envisage a cycling game to be except that it has the added bonus of being played against others which always adds to the competition and enjoyment. Also it brings the management side of things more to the fore then PCM does and this is something that I’ve always enjoyed and haven’t been able to find a good experience of in any online cycling games that I’ve tried.
As well as that I have previously been involved in similar types of games based off the football manager series and since I enjoyed them I know that I would enjoy a cycling version just as much if not more so and the addition of being able to build up your own talents instead of just playing with the top stars is something that I’ve missed in previous games and is another reason why I think I would enjoy this.
How do we know that you will be active?
I know that I am relatively new to the forum, although I had been dipping in and out for about 4 months before signing up, and haven’t made many posts in my short time here. Hopefully this won’t count against me as the reason behind this is that I don’t like to make a post unless I feel I can contribute to the discussion and I feel that the fact I’ve only been a member of the site for a relatively short time is due to the management game finishing so close to the release of PCM 2012, the first PCM game I’ve bought, and didn't feel the need to sign up before then.
As mentioned in the previous section I have previously been very active on similar types of games based off the football manager series and would love to prove this as part of the continental division with the hope of one day making it into the top division.
to be honest i'm not really sure what else i can say to convince you i will be active throughout the season so hopefully you'll give me a chance in the continental division for me to prove myself.
If selected, how do you intend to manage your team?
I intend on running a team backed by Peter Sauber with his company Sauber being the main sponsor and Petronas as the secondary sponsor in what would be a reuniting of the old formula one team and would use a jersey based loosely off the cars livery from the 2000’s with the light blue of Petronas alongside the dark blue that featured on the cars in the era in question.
This team would ideally be run off a Sammarinese license in an attempt to highlight the sport in the nation and due to the manager being Sammarinese, or a Swiss license to correspond with the team founder, owner and main sponsor.
In terms of riders the team would look to develop Sammarinese riders alongside pleasing the sponsors by signing riders from their nationalities, this being Swiss and Malaysian, with a higher quantity of Swiss riders then Malaysians. Then if needed the roster would be bolstered from mainly young riders however we would look to bring in some older riders if we thought the team was lacking the experienced riders to help bring on the young talent.

Mine went something like this.
SN: "Hey, I'm starting a continental division for the man game. I'm going to save Slipstream for you."
Me: "Mmmkay"

My original one was:
Me: 'Hey, SN, this man-game thing sounds fun, how do I join?'
SN: Well, usually people join right before the off-season, but the manager for one of the teams disappeared right after the transfer season, and never filled out the race planner. Do you want them?
Me: Sure! |
