He's just being nice, giving the other riders a chance. His racing starts in the third week, where he'll gain an hour per day.

He could win this if he wouldn't have to work for Froome all the time. Oh, and he's a much better climber than Siutsou.

And he doesn't break his leg, unlike that silly Belarussian.

There's an american guy called Bushwackers from the same region as Danny Pate who overrates him to a ridiculous degree, saying Pate is the best domestique in the peloton, saying Pate is a top level stage racer, etc etc.
The funniest part is he actually believes it.

Looks like a hobo.
He's been writing columns for newspapers.

He hasn't tested positive before. Has he acctually been named in any doping ring?
I'm not saying he is not on it, but I wouldn't think he would be a doper based on his results.
They're talking about Froome. The first quote in isso's post was about the Gadret joke, the second was about aymen's Froome belief.
Oh my bad |

Still the point about Gadret stands.
To make a long story short : he's got a baaaad reputation about it. And his results (how he performs in general) seem to match the idea very well.
But he never got caught, and to my knowledge never was the subject of an investigation.
And don't get me started about AG2R. |

They're much more tolerant than any other French Pro Tour team, or Pro Continental (whilst Roubaix must be hard challengers, they're much smaller), regarding you-know-what.
In the last ten years, they had or have had many riders whose doping use was rumoured or well-known. Some even got caught (Efimkin). The lists of others is quite long too, and I'd probably miss some names if I tried to write it down.
Given that, it's no surprise than when some dodgy half-big names decide to sign for a French team, they sign with AG2R. Same goes for French "talents" who had not been signed or kept by any domestic team when riding in lower categories on home soil and had to sign for some tolerant foreign team. When they come back and head to AG2R, it means a lot (although it could also be random, I know).
There again, I suggest you look at their transfers history, to see what pictures it draws about some riders (I don't feel comfy writing names here, Carl Naïbo once sued a guy for less than that Oops, I just wrote one name). |

OK, cheers. I thought Cofidis was the dodgy French team. But maybe 'was' is the operative word. |

Oh they weren't all that dodgy betwee 2005 and 2011. But with the current management it doesn't get much dodgier.
Sigh. Most new teams or teams with new management are extremely dodgy right now. Even GreenEdge went and got the doctors from the AIS that, as is well documented, spent the past two decades doping youth athletes

Unlike Katusha, who were dodgy enough and then decided to bring in Holczer. |
