He says this is the first time in his life he hasn't peaked too early for a GT. Let's see if that has an impact.

Oh for sure. I've never seen him like this in the really long climbs.

Rodriguez has a minute and a half on his main rivals in the GC now. Looks more and more like he's up for the victory this time.

I am still waiting for both Purito and Hesjedal to blow up on one of the major climbs.

He improved his TT very much so too this year He was 59th in Tirreno TT which was a great feat for him and then 6th in Pais Vasco TT.

Why Hesjedal?
And you could almost say he did today anyway.

Same old story. He was as usually strong in PaÃs Vasco and Ardennes. So week 3 comes he will be old Purito. |

What the fuck was Rabottini's DS doing? He had no idea Purito was anywhere near him. Great win though, interesting final 2 kilometres.

Being 59th in a short ITT isn't anything special for him. And the PV ITT was VERY (emphasis on very) hilly. He might have improved, but not so much. That's irrelevant anyway, you could TT backwards and still win this Giro.

Good point. And his third at the Bola del Mundo that same year.
Last time I say something in the heat of the moment.

Excellent finish, fantastic ride & win for Rabottini!!
Purito looks really strong so far, let´s see what happen in 3rd week.
Another hard night (and rest day) for Astana chiefs to think and decide, who is their leader here, Tiralongo waited for Kreuziger yesterday, today it was just opposite...

Indeed, if he keeps going like that TT will have no importance whatsoever. He's definitely improved though, he was 44th in Giro prologue ( 9km) as well as well rode very strong TTT with Katusha being 2nd Thing is he won't loose as much in that last TT as CountArach states.

Stupid belgian newspaper website says that Purito gave Rabbo the win...
Actually it's Losada's final punch wich killed Purito.

The only climbs he'd blow up on, would be too short for him to lose more than 1-2mins, like today.
He said he liked 3rd weeks. The last two years at the Tour he's done well in the 3rd week.
