Looks like an good team but Rogers? Have he done any results this season? I kow he has been injured but I don't think he deserves to be selected.

Rogers is useful, they need a good rouleur to use as domestique, you can't have a team full of sprinters. I'm more puzzled about the fact they chose Haussler (who has been next to crap since Cavendish decided to ride over him) or Cooke (who hasn't got any significant result in ages) over Renshaw. Are they afraid he's gonna leadout Cavendish instead of Goss or what?

Well the Dutch selection makes as much sense as trying to eat plastic.

Gesink, Poels, Mollema, Hoogerland, Terpstra and Boom + 3 others yet to be chosen.

So unless the Danish people decide to build a HC mountain a week before the worlds, there's not much chance for this team Pfft

they've got about the same amount of chance of winning as a grug-free Cobo!

I hope they'll include Ligthart.

Portugal will line up for ITT with Rui Costa and Nelson Oliveira.

For road race, both Costa and Oliveira will take part of it, along with André Cardoso, Manuel Cardoso, Filipe Cardoso and Ricardo Mestre.

No, Manuel is Cardoso Leal, André is Cardoso Martins and Filipe is Cardoso Sousa, Cardoso isn't their family name actually. Wink

Meanwhile rumours are getting stronger that Geox is planning to pull sponsorship from the cycling team. They want to focus all their efforts on the sponsorship of Red Bull racing.

It's already known Geox spends more money on the shoes of Vettel than on the entire cycling team. They want to double the effort of the F1 team.
Geox CEO says they will decide in october wether they will go on with the cycling team.

So yet another sponsor calling it quits after just 1 year?

Great, that means I can add the Netherlands to the 'teams which will try to make the race hard' list.

Concerning Geox - had the team not won the Vuelta, I'm pretty sure that the sponsor would have withdrawn. They didn't get a World Tour license (which Gianetti had promised them), and they didn't get an invitation to the Tour de France (which Gianetti had promised them), so if there's a sponsor happiness bar in real cycling, I'm guessing it was in the very red zone before the Vuelta.

The sponsor will have to make up its mind pretty fast, though. We're in September, one month away from the end of the road cycling season.

That is just insane....What they going to do, sponsor his socks as well???

First I heard of Geox was when they sponsored the cycling team, and I had absolutely no idea they were sponsoring Vettel's shoes....

Same in Spain. "El zapato que respira" lol

I'm still yet to know someone who wears Geox, I don't know how they make all that money.

The fusion between Shack and Leopard is quite different. Shack would be only ProContinental team next year without merge. And Leopard wouldn't have a main sponsor without merge. And Becca stays in the team. That's quite a difference, I think. Wink
