The first break of the day consists of three riders who are Hansen/Christina Watches, Alarcon/Efapel Glassdrive and Korus/Kenda 5 Hour Energy

They have been joined by Bouyer/Team Europcar, Casimiro/Carmin Prio and Yovchev/Amore & Vita and have stretched the lead out to 2m 53s

The six have got a nice rhythm going between them and the lead is nearly at the five minute mark

The pace has picked up in the peleton with a number of teams sharing the work

The peleton are less than a minute behind so it looks like the break is doomed for failure

With the break safely back in the peleton, several teams have seen there opportunity to get to the front and try and force the pace

Team Type 1 seem to have the better organised train at the moment but you cannot rule out Endura Racing just yet

Mangel of Saur Sojasun leads the pack under the red kite

And he holds on to claim the first stage here in France and will be the wearer of the leaders jersey tomorrow

Haga/Team Optum, Callegarin/Team Type 1 and Wytinck/An Post Sean Kelly have a lead of 3m 20s as they ascend the second major climb of the day

Jorgensen/Christina Watches made it across to the leaders on the descent and they now have an advantage of 4m 47s

The four riders are really putting in the effort today

After the last climb Jorgensen/Christina Watches decided to go clear on his own and has opened up a lead of 1m 40s

Jorgensen suffered a puncture which enabled Callegarin/Team Type 1 to catch up with him and now they are the only remaining riders at the front of the race, with the peleton less than a minute behind

With everyone from the breakaway finally caught, Galland/Saur Sojasun decides that its his turn to get some tv time

Second on the GC Reihs/Christina Watches has come out of the chasing pack to try and catch Galland and gain valuable seconds towards the race lead

Galland has 27s as the race closes in on him, can he hold out to the finish

Another day in which i am very happy with the way the guys performed.
Daniele went away in the break of the day and gained enough points to give him the lead in the Mountains Classification and a top ten on the GC and both Julien's grabbed top ten finishes on the stage

The latest time check is 6m 19s for these four riders up the road, who went clear as soon as the flag was dropped to start the stage. They are Drancourt of Roubaix Lille Metropole, Weber of Team Differdange, Stemper of Kenda 5 Hour Energy and Mountains Leader Daniele Callegarin of Team Type 1

All four riders are working well together and keeping a good rhythm going

The lead has started to reduce thanks to the work of Team NSP Ghost on the front of the peleton

The group still has 2m 48s in hand

Twenty kilometres to go and they still have 1m 32s over the peleton

Endura Racing and Rapha Condor Sharp are bringing the pack up to the break as there day out in front is about to come to an end

Three teams look like they are in the mix for the final shoot out

Dempster of Endura Racing leads them all in to the final kilometre

But its his team mate Ian Wilkinson who claims the victory
