Thanks Croatia, not very pleased with 8th, I thought my team could actually aim for a top 5. Glad to see this moving though

Shit.
I don't have the time to do the maths now to see if it was enough but I'm fearing that it's Bunzls who can celebrate more than just the ttt win.
But damn how close it surely is

Sorry for the slow going lately,
I have now posted the final rankings update of the season: https://pcmdaily.com/forum/viewthread....st_1243710
Thanks for everyone that was active during the season and everyone that contributed to running the game.
Congrats to all the guys that could win a ranking:
Ollfardh - GVK with quite a sovereign win in the World Cup, after taking the lead quite early in the season already. I believe Phinney could've won though if he'd taken part in more than 1 of 3 time trials.
Shonak - Contador finally showing them all in the individual rankings.
Luigi - Podravka destroying the U23 tour, while the main team is getting relegated from the WT.
Fiskars - I should not have allowed that team to take part in the CT the way it did, so congrats jandal for being best of the rest.
fjhoekie - EBH proved to be a very strong signing for CT and takes the crown.
knockout - You won different rankings, but not the one you aimed for.
CarbonSports did not only take the overall Prestige Rankings, but also the Team World Cup proving to be very consistent in lots of terrains. Also the U23 Tour individual rankings go again to the same team.
brewers - What a development from Bunzl, from being a very average team to the very top. Great to see that!
I hope to get the WC and NC databases done soon, but I can't promise much. |

We saved ourselves! With a 900 points margin! This has been a horrifically exciting season for Alitalia, proof that we're ready to bounce into higher positions if we have the chance to do so. I'll try not to fuck up the next transfer season, we've been lucky, like a lot. Planning was very good, but I'm pretty sure luck is actually the top reason why we're staying in the WT.
Congrats to everyone that sucked less than we did this year, I'm sure you're thrilled to improve too
And thanks to Bikex, Croatia, Shonak, brewers, knockout and everyone else that I might have forgotten for helping running this game <3

Thanks to everyone who helped run it especially Bikex, really really stoked after a season way above expectations, thanks to the rest of the CT for being moslty really active and helping make a really interesting dogfight for promotion and division in general.
Also thanks Cro for your advice <3
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Thanks to those who ran the game, so cool to have another season in the books.
(Matt- I'm sorry but sadly it's been a long time since i really helped running the game. Unless you include bragging on stage wins and bitching about second places into running the game :P )
knockout - You won different rankings, but not the one you aimed for. Smile
CarbonSports did not only take the overall Prestige Rankings, but also the Team World Cup proving to be very consistent in lots of terrains.
Hehe. The irony of winning the most prestigious ranking again but not the one that i initially targetted once again. Feel gutted for losing it as i tried to optimize my planning a lot towards winning that one by keeping Sagan and Betancur completely out of CT races (didnt do so in most previous seasons) and sending Kittel to unlucrative WT races instead of lucrative CT races to a large amount. Propably lost it by putting Geyer and Ciolek in too many CT races though.
While never planned for it, it's such a cool history to winning the U23 individual ranking back-to-back-to-back with three different riders. Hugely doubt that i can make it four since i dont see any one talent to lead me there.
Winning the team world cup despite dodging most CT events is also quite cool although the format ofc benefits my team so much as I'm maybe the only top team solely focussed on classics - completely ignoring mountains which helps in a ranking awarding points for flat, hilly and cobbled classics. However, i dont really rate the victory here too much as it was implemented very late and thus, no team planned for it, and more importantly, the team scoring looked very much screwed up at times due to PCM not being able to adapt to the scoring model (-> 2nd and 3rd guy ignoring the places / stopping 100m before the sprinting line in sprints as their leadout is finished / etc). If i'll find the time, i'll present a couple of alternatives for a fairer classification.
The individual world cup was imo only won by GVK because other teams didnt care about it during planning. Phinney could have won that or Kwiatek / Degenkolb if one of them would have concentrated on that. Or if i would have targeted it Peter Sagan could have won that one and the fact that Sagan finished 4th best CSC rider in the Ind. World Cup says a lot about the prestige of the World Cup and his season schedule (he raced very few -> he basically only rode the cobbled ones as co-leader, MSR, i think LBL and maybe 1 more hilly race).
Surprise team of the season was Bunzl. I already predicted them to finish top 3 in my preseason prediction but they had an insanely strong season with a GT victory and 2nd in the PR (/1st in WT R.). (@Croatia, yes TVG is a solid 2000 point scorer as I told you :P )
Disappointing team of the season was imo Feryn. I had them high on my list to once again finish at least on the podium and at no point did it look like that. Even Froome was the weakest of the Big Four.
I'm very glad to see Contador winning the individual rankings as Shonak suffered big time from his offseason gamble and the secret bidding and i like that he could carry them to the victory.
Sadly, again some teams will have to disband. Gonna miss Celesio a lot as they were quite the long term rival with Degenkolb as Sagan-clone and all those young (German and international) supertalents that we always seemed to fight for.
Bikex - Asking once again: Can you please leave my team out of the NC database? I dont want to have any NC jerseys and I'd prefer to see national champions in teams that want a jersey.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Thank you Bikex for all that you do for ICL. And thanks to everyone else who helped run the game and kept it moving.
My first season here and I've enjoyed it a lot. Although things didn't quite work out as I had hoped, it was a lot of fun. I think transfer season remains the highlight
Coming to the team, was aiming for higher than 10th place in the CT rankings but 7th among CT teams in Prestige rankings is close to what I had predicted for ourselves at the start. I kind of felt that promotion would be just out of reach and that's how it turned out. I made the mistake of entering a few too many World Tour races when I could have scored better in CT. That's something to learn from this season.
Monfort was undoubtedly the rider of the season for us, although he didn't finish very high up on the standings. The start of the season at Indonesia was incredible! Porte managed to scrape into the top 10 in the final month after Colombia, but he should've been challenging for a top 5 finish. Boom was another of the success stories with him delivering in most races where he was favoured for a high finish.
Congrats to all the winners in each ranking and looking forward to the NCs and Porte defending his ITT world title, which is probably a long shot

Nice to cap off the season with another bronze medal in the TT. Thanks Croatia.
Hoping for a nice transfer season now, maybe with some more luck this time around. I was most satisfied with VDP and also Herrada did really well. Contador with bad luck in the Tour really pissed me off but he pulled off an amazing Vuelta
Thanks to bikex and Croatia. I am not sure I will find time next season to do races but sincerely hope ICL continues to run and picks up some speed I also hope for many new signups since I sense that some teams are going to fold.

What a season for us, most expecting us to go down, but we finished 10th in both rankings and won the World Cup! It's already been said, but it shows how much you can do with good planning even when your team looks poor on paper.
Congrats knockout and brewers, each of you taking 1 ranking seems the best way to finish a season dominated by you two.
Onto my favourite part of this game, the U23's. Podravka winning both the U23 and the Prestige rankings. We did manage to beat them for the CT title though. Geissler as best rider wasn't a surprise either.
Finally a big thanks to Bikex and all the race reporters for yet another fantastic ICL season!
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Thanks for running another season everyone Very pleased to have gotten 13th in our first season in the WT. Next year will be a tough season with Gilbert on the decline, and since our team was 95% Gilbert we need some replacement. Highlight of the season for me was Durbridge in yellow though
Congrats to all the rankings winners, I'll hopefully be coming for you next season

Great to have the season through, thanks bikex (and all the other reporters) for your fantastic work. I am a little bit sad about just missing out on the podium in both rankings, but being the best promoted team is something great of course. Even more sad about missing out on the Majka trade now though
Still we had a fantastic season, with especially Uran delivering at the Giro (and no, TVG is no 2000 points scorer knockout - some amazing planning and some tiny luck made him this year though ).
Our main team had the Top5 season we hoped for, and hopefully transforming into a title contender in 2 years. Our developement team had the expected tough year, where finishing mid-range in the table is okay. Wait for the likes of Buchko, Vaclavik, Boileau and more next season though
Finally I am very happy with the CT Rankings. Congrats to our brothers from Santos-Euskadi on promotion, what an amazing season you had! Siskevicius once again proved to be amazing. Then, congrats to Spezialized for an outstanding season with a team that wasn't expected to be as good. Fuglsang once again was a big player, showing that his high acquiring costs were well deserved. VisitUkraine also with a great season, very nice to see. Similar congrats to CreditSuisse with their sweet regional build-up and for dominox,, who sadly just missed out on promotion last season.
Coldeportes and Enel will be amazing to watch next season, because both have the base to go from zero to hero in one year. And it looks like Sutty might be able to come back to WT, that'd be great to have!
World Cup of course was a major let-down with Vanmarcke only 5th on cobbles, surely something that could turn around with better supporting cast. 4th in the team classification looks great though!

First season for us and I certainly very much enjoyed it.
Rankings-wise we probably did as well as I could have hoped before the season with a mainly swiss focus. Caruso was obviuosly the stand out rider with good performances in basically every race he entered, maybe apart from the very last one in Colombia where he was slghtly disappointing.
From Spartacus I actually expected a litlle bit more, especially in comparison with Caruso, but probably I just misjudged the unpredictability of cobbled races and also time trials. In general I was hoping for a few more breakaway wins from our hilly guys, but apparently they just fell in that "too bad for decent gc points, but too good for breakaways" category.
Finally big congrats to all rankings winners and obviously also massive thanks to everybody, especially Bikex, who contributed to keep this going throughout the season! Hopefully we are in for another one.

Another emjoyable season, big thanks to Bikex & co for all your hard work running the game.
Thanks to Brewers and Knockout for a thrilling World Tour that went down to the wire, congrats to both for coming away with a win.
Well done to the the promoting teams and good luck in the transfer season.
Highlight for Suntory was being the best team in Le Tour, total surprise.
I am up for another season, fingers crossed.

Next up are the qualification races for the WC this is how it works. Based on the rankings some countries already have qualified for the WC:
Any European country that had riders scoring points is eligible for the European Qualification races:
The best 26 remaining countries will take part at the Rest of the World qualifications:
For the qualification the best finishing rider of each team counts. For the European race the best 4 teams get an own team at the WC race and the next 4 will form a mixed team together. At the other race the best team from each continent (except Oceania) will get an own team plus the next best country will as well. Also there will be another mixed team with the next best country from each continent (except Oceania) plus another team.
There'll be seperate races for the Road race and TT.
@knockout: Sorry but all riders will take part at the NCs. Removing strong riders would also decrease the challenge of these races and thereby the prestige.
Like said previously already, you are allowed to enter NC jerseys that are very similar to your main jersey. |
