That's why I prefer not to plan my season. It frees up more flexibility in choosing your team and is more like real cycling.

MartijnVDD
I deselect all races in the schedule except for sponsor goals and personal goals and plan these first. Then I build a fitness scheme around these races.
Next I select build-up races and fill the gaps until my leaders have between 70 and 80 race days and my domestiques at least 60. I adjust the fitness schemes here and there to make sure their form isn't too low during races, but without tiring them too much.

If you use the in-game planner, be aware that as a non-WT team you're never sure of participation in a race. I once planned a whole season, clicked next and got a message that half my applications got denied. I can't remember, but it wouldn't surprise me if I actually cried...

EDIT: Finally a stage win in the Giro!
Attacked with Pirazzi in order to gain some mountain points. Rabottini and I stayed in front and sprinted for the win. This time, I timed it right and grabbed the win.

Statistics: 9 stages (+2 TTs), 5 second places, 1 top 5, 1 top 10 and 1 win.

Rexona Cycling Team
1st June Update:

Karl Hammarling has finished Top20 or higher in 85% of his race days and resides 5th in the CT rankings.
Tom Lasnik has won 2 times but lags down in the 30's in the rankings due to a lack of big results or GC wins
Johan Hammarling has race 20 days following a couple of injuries, but has turned in 2 wins and a host of Top10's
Ladin Livshits has won most on the team, with 3 wins, all time trials. Outside of that he has struggled though

Nicol and Wiles both impress at times on the climbs but nothing major. Weiland is consistent, just that is always 11th-15th place. Van Achteren underwhelming but solid support. Veldhuizen spends his time playing support, as does Malev, Fuchs and Kristian.

Signed up 2 very promising U23 talents. Currently top of the U23 rankings (and by over 200pts) is Gerald Steenkamp [22yo] . Pretty decent overall, projected as a good fighter with high FL stat and low SP and HL stats.
Also signed the top U23 Brit (currently 3rd overall in rankings) Zack Hunt [19yo]. 65Mo 65Hl is a great starting point, but other than that he sucks. Projected, however, as a pretty good stage racer who will be capable of multiple GT top10's.

In terms of the Promotion Race things are good. 7th best Continental Ranking team (78pts ahead of the next best CT team). 4th best CT team in Superprestige (300pts off best, and 150pts ahead of 6th best). On track for promotion but could do with a few more GC wins to really boost the totals.

Advancing really fast!
Promotion seems easily reachable.

Rexona Cycling Team
September 15th Update:
Start of the Tour of Britain and the peak of the season for the team...

So the war for promotion. Going into the race Rexona sit 20th in Superprestige (of eligible teams for PCT places) so the last PCT spot. 21st is 10pts behind, and 27th is less than 200 back. 19th is 13pts ahead and 15th is less than 200 ahead.
There are 13 teams in this promotion war.... It's fucking close as shit!

In other news signed Ben Swift (assumed i'd be PCT when that deal was made) and the top U23 ranked rider Matyas Havel (CZE 20yo) who is solid enough all round and scored over 2000pts across the season.

I hate promoting sometimes.... Just cannot get into any flamming races. Applied to a total of 45 and was accepted by 3 (success rate of 6.66%)... So i'm going straight back down unless i manage to podium around half of my total race days Rolling Eyes

The final week in Le Tour was pretty disappointing for me. Highlight was Meyer 3rd on the Semnoz, from the early break. It brought him back to 14th in the GC. Contador took control in the ITT and didn't lose it until the Champs-Elysées. Oh yeah, and Velits abandoned with 1.8kms to go on the Champs. Cav green, 6 points ahead of Kittel and 9 ahead of Sagan

Started new career with Serbian sponsor, Nordeus (a company that produced Top Eleven Manager) and having alot of fun with them. Never felt so excited about some career, so decided to share it with you. Also, don't ask me how i took screenshot of my team, it works only in Menu , not in-game.

Anyway, team is solid, made only from riders from Eastern-European countries. We're currently part of CT and at the end of February month. Only raced 2 races: NZ Cycling Classic and Tour du Haut Var. Bad result in NZCC since i only got Top10 once, with Tamouridis, but great result at Tour du Haut Var where Lagutin got 2nd GC position, 1 stage win and Mohoric won U25 Classification.

Also, found great talent in Young Riders window, just before starting career. It's D. Jerkov , who's on 70/69 MO/HIL and 21 years old currently. Didn't check his limitis in editor, since that will probably disappoint me. Pfft

Ive just started a career with Lotto Belisol as I love the team.

I won the Santos Tour Down Under with Tony Gallopin plus 1 stage win.
Also got 2 stage wins with Andre Greipel plus Sprinters jersey.

Now at Vuelta a Mallorca, I have brought De Clerq for the GC and brought, Lighart, Debusschere, Sieberg and Boeckmens to form a train for Dehaes. Sander Armee will support De Clerq.

Nolifing today, played this career for 3 hours and not planning to stop for at least 2 next hours. Never had so much fun!

Beverbeek Classic - Der 2nd , Jarc 4th , Tamouridis 8th
Trofeo Zssdi - Lagutin 5th , Durasek 7th
Trofej Umag - Jarc 1st
Paris Troyes - Jarc 5th

And, daaaaaaaaamn man! That D. Jerkov is going to be total beast. Just checked , his MO limit is 84 (right behind Froome's) and his HIL limit is 80!

Rexona Cycling Team

Second Season Syndome has hit hard in 2014. Baring the PITS we had only stolen a handful of victories and were really struggling to fight with the big boys of the PCT. Things were going so badly we were 16th (of the possible 20 next season PCT teams) and really starting at a tough fight.

Fortunately 9 out of 11 wins in the PITS had brought in a solid points haul and should boost us a place or two upwards. This comes nicely combined with a lot of stat gains pushing the top guys into a position from where they can compete more regularly with some bigger names (stat screen will come sometime soon)

However the biggest problem is sponsor renewals. Rexona are pissed because all but one of their goals was Top5 an .HC ace or a top .1 race. As such i've failed them all so far and they hate me. So i've got 21 new sponsor offers, not as good as it sounds. Only 2 are from UK sponsors, and neither are offering over £48k (my wage bill will be £53k not including staff). 2 US offers but the same problem.
Only 3 sponsors could offer me enough funding to run a team: Banco Chile (£61k), Norheim (£55k) and Kelme (£53k). But obviously i meet none of their desired regions and only Banco is a short term contract.
So unless something magical happens at Nationals and the early weeks of July (Osterreich Tour is a major Rexona goal, plus i've got Quinghai Lake) the teams is in real trouble. Relegation is looming and we have no new sponsor coming. No new sponsor, no transfers. No transfers no chance of staying in PCT next season.

So I'm starting my first season in PCM13 since well... release. After I finally got my PCM11 carreer ported over it's now down to planning the season. I set the sponsor goals according to what I think I can achieve, but now it's actually coming down to the planning itself.

So far, I got the impression that planning is more or less similar to the previous games. There is now rhythm, fatigue, and different recuperation by freshness, but I don't know if I should really change my planning style.

As far as I can tell, fatigue (the red area of the fitness graph right?) works exactly the same as fatigue did previously: have too many large form peaks and your rider will not be able to get to full form anymore.

Rhythm is still a dark area for me. I searched all the forums and read all the guides and manuals, and from what I can gather the main difference between it and race fitness is that Rhythm is now supposed to build back up easier after not racing for a while. I don't really know yet if rhythm now builds up quicker in the first place or not.

Freshness seems to be not too punishing. As far as I know, it's only what shows in the energy graph when you enter a race. I found that one quite easy to handle when doing playthroughs of the Tour and Vuelta. I even got back to top freshness in the second week of Both, simply by alternating riders in the breakaway and not doing much work in the transfer stages.

All in all, I'm under the impressions that the new system of freshness + fatigue + rhythm + no race day cap favours longer periods of good form (not the biggest green one but the one below that, I guess that's level 2 now right?) over short peaks of excellent form.

Some questions:
1. Are my observations above correct? Pfft
2. How many races do you give your riders to reach peak Rhythm, especially when preparing for a rider's first major objective such as a classic?
3. Did you change your planning style (in terms of periods of form and assigning races) from the previous versions? If so, how?
4. Do you keep any attention at all to rider satisfaction when planning? The Cyanide guide suggests it impacts their performance.

1) Pretty much yeah
2) About 7-10 days of racing in 2 weeks to get it up to full.
3) Not at all because it's fundamentally the same system
4) No because once they are unhappy it's almost impossible to make them happy again. And the impact on performance is minimal if at all

Thinking of doing a new career, my sponsor decided that I wasn't good enough last time on contract renewals and I had no Spanish offers to keep my team spanish so i ended up giving up on that one.

Thinking on starting a Vaconsoleil career, so i could develop a few climbers and since its an international team, i wont have a problem when it comes to contract renewals hopefully

Monfort finished 2nd overall, 27 seconds behind Mollema.

Greipel finished 2nd at K-B-K and Roelandts won K-B-K.
Greipel achieved our sponsor goal of top 3 at Het Neuw too.

Good season so far, plenty of wins and were coming up to our next sponsor goal which is to win the Milan- San Remo.

Nice result so far. Curious how you'll do at Milan San Remo and if you'll podium the Ronde Van Vlaanderen with Roelandts Wink

My plan is a two proned attack, one with Greipel and his sprint train and the other with Gallopin and Hansen.

Finished 2nd in Milan San Remo with Greipel, Gerrans won by half a bike length, I was little late in launching my sprint of Gallopin's wheel.
