Wow, Cannondale are dumb.
I wouldn't be surprised if it is a money issue. I mean he probably didn't ask for much but there are undoubtedly cheaper domestiques out there.
Better than him tough? |

I would be surprised if it is a money issue. There is a minimum salary set for a WT rider and I wouldn't be surprised if Paterski was around this minimum. He hasn't done much in the past to justify a better contract.
Unless we're talking about the situation when other team offered him more. But the current situation, when more strong teams are disappearing than being created, doesn't put riders in a strong position for negotiations. There are a lot of Vacansoleil, Euskaltel and other teams' riders on the market who will do everything they can to save their careers (including riding for little money). |

Paterski is much better than a minimum wage guy (19th wc, 3rd industria e artiganato, 3rd on La Redoute)

I agree. But he didn't have these achievements when he was signing 2013 contract, and would he demand more for 2014 if he knew he isn't going to get a better deal elsewhere?
I hope he has some decent options, though. |

Maxime Daniel wastes no time finding a new team after Sojasun's annoucement that they wouldn't be continuing. The 22 year old sprinter has signed for AG2R!

Thx a lot. Acevedo looks like a scum for me now. And De Gendt would be nice addition, mainly to strengthen "our" TTT squad for next year.
Come on, Lefevere always brags about having agreements with this rider and that rider and when nothing is formalised, he is playing the victim. Boohoo. If Acevedo was the only one being accused of breaking deals, I might condemn him too, but Lefevere does this every year. It's getting boring. |

Marcato -> Cannondale. Good signing, he's an upgrade over Paterski.
Astarloza retires.

No way Marcato can be compared to Paterski though. Marcato at his best is a leader and mostly a very luxury domestique in a team, got 700 points or more for last three CQ rankings season.
Marcato is a very good singing on its own, vital for Sagan. More to come I think. Flecha and Gatto should be prioritized by the team.
Glad Daniel found team quickly, a very decent neo pro season by him.

Wanty secures, Veuchelen, Baugnies, De Vreese, Leukemans & Selvaggi.
De Gednt too expensive ( also seems he doesn't want to race in PCT team ) Marcato received better offer by Cannondale. Hoogerland is unlikely to join at this point.
Negotations going on with Flecha, Feillu. Marczynski, Kreder, Bert-Jan Lindeman, Lammertink and Wouter Mol. Also extended with some of the riders from Accent Wanty.

Good to see Baugnies signed a pro-contract again. He's way too good for the amateur scene.

Funny fact that Van Hummel already had a contract at Alonso's team. Well, now he has no contract for next season.
Hoogerland probably to Lampre or Astana.

That is going to be one hell of a competitive team next year. They have done really well out of the collapse of the lowlands teams. I wonder if they will pick up some of Crelan's talents like Kevin Claeys. Also Vantomme could be yet another good classics man for them.

Great move from Cannondale to secure Marcato. Now Gatto+Flecha please and Sagan has finally a proper classics team to help him.

Help? Flecha ain't helping nobody. He would be a co-leader in northern classics. |

Co-leader with Sagan? Sorry, but i loled on this. Maybe in Roubaix, where Sagan was not present so far and other races where he would not be. But surely not when they would ride both...

Im also hoping they'll secure Gatto. Would be the perfect helper for Sagan.
Flecha's on his way to Wanty, according to Van der Schueren
