Geslin was at 15000 already, 2000 fine for Vacansoleil.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

I didn't I bid on a rider I wanted but I presumed that you would outbid me, but if you didnt then great I got a good rider for my team
So you knew that you won't get the rider and with that just pushed the price and ruined deals?
Are you serious.
He bid on a rider. He wanted that rider. He did not bid on that rider again because he did not want to pay more money.
Sorry, but I am indeed serious.
When I bid on Vervaeke(who is clearly not the greatest talent), and I need to pay over 25k for him, and on top of that, after several bids, I get asked what Vervaekes stats are and how old he is, that does just show, that some are bidding, just because they like the name or they like to push the bid. Because Vervaeke for 25k is no good rider for ANY team...for 10k he may be, but for 25k he is massively overpriced. As well as Stuyven and Howson (for even 35k). And bidding on someone, while expecting to be overbid is as far as I concern just pushing the bids...sorry for being serious again...

This really isn't a hard concept to understand.
Picture the scene. Rider A is going for 5000. Team A sees this and thinks he would help the team grow. However, he doesn't really want to spend more than 8000 on the rider. Therefore he will bid up to that point, because, even though he suspects that he will go for 10000, he has the opportnity to get him for less. If he had not bid, he could have looked like an idiot when he went for 5000. If you think someone is overpriced, there is another option, don't bid. I wanted Zordan on my team, but I wasn't paying 20000 for him. |

then why didn't you back out, you realized that he's not worth it anymore.

@Paul: So people shouldn't bid on riders at all when they're not going to throw all their money on him in order to secure him?
By the way, I also find it rather funny to bid on somebody when you doN't even know his stats, but I still understand TSF as you can imagine he's good because he's good irl

edit: can there be punishments for miss spelling a riders name? cause you can't find them with forum search because of that

Ok, I might as well ask flat out,
Does anybody want/need/wouldn't mind/thinks it would be funny to have 140k or maybe even more. I would pay that, for a 79+ rider in at least one of the main stats (except TT), MO, HL, CB, SP, that is the only condition on getting 140k+ pm me if you have someone.

maybe if you start responding to pm's instead if not answering thus giving the impression your still thinking instead of backing out of a possible deal

I could understand this, if you would atleast want him in your team...Howson f.e. was ok, imo, but Vervaeke? I mean there are much better FAs out there which no-one made a bid for...he could easily get another guy from belgium for maybe 10k, with same stats...I just can't believe, that a team really wants to have Vervaeke, because of his stats for 25k....I originally wanted to pay 10k for him. I only want him in my squad, because he and Tiesj Benoot are good mates irl. No other reason here. Not even Lotto(a belgian team) is bidding so much for him...Why should a colombian team bid so much for him, and expect to be overbidden? If i think that I will be overbidden anyways, I won't bid...it's easy as that. If I am the one, making a starting bid, thats normal, but if I overbid someone on an already overpriced rider, thats another thing.

I thought that was a joke, Vaconsoleil isn't anywhere near buying (was going to write afford, but we can afford one) a GT leader.

you can't buy someone and then sell them, I currently have an GT I do nothing with (like rl Europcar) and I need someone that could score there. that's what I wanted

As someone who has a complete, realistic and strong squad of 30 riders with my season fully planned out, I'm really enjoying these petty arguments. Do carry on.
