General Classification favourites
Tejay Van Garderen
Tejay is the first of the Americans to preview in the list. The BMC rider who is a great climber & time trialler will be looking at home advantage to help give him the boost he might need to win. In last years edition, TJ finished 4th overall will be looking to better with a winner or a podium. BMC only sending 6 riders may result in a lack of support if he is alone but he will have Jordan Lewis another strong climber in his own right.
Andrew Talansky
Like Tejay, Andrew Talansky is a strong young american general classification rider who is competent in the climbing and time trial discipline. Andrew has shown glimpses of his abilities with top 10s in stages at Tirreno Adriatico and Catalunya. He will be looking for a good result in California. Talansky will have Danielson and Zabriskie for support.
Chris Horner
The 3rd American to feature in the preview, Horner is arguably the strongest climber in the race but with only one mountain stage can he put enough of a gap between himself and the rest of the GC field who will be able to get the time back over the 31.6km ITT?
Rui Costa
Rui Costa leads a strong Movistar team always, his ability in the short sharp hills of stages 1 and 2 may be a chance for Costa to take a win and and grab some extra seconds. He is a more than capable time trialler, finishing second in Algarve to Po-ding Kim in a similar TT. He will have young talent Oget for strong support who may have a go in the first few stages himself.
Bradley Wiggins
The Tour de France champion makes his first appearance in the US and has the tools to win the race. He will be looking to stick on to the wheels of the best climbers of the race after the olympic time trial champion does what he does best the stage before. Sky have only sent 6 but contains young climbers Josh Edmonson, Ian Boswell and Joseph Dombrowski. |

Hollywood propaganda. But obviously König needs no introduction. May Radioshack feel safe for now.

We'll finally see if Horner joins Basso and Evans for the worst GC rider of the season. |

damn'it I should have made one of the Feunard a GC rider, that's would at least be a reward this season *makes me sad to think that I still haven't found time to write those things* |

Lot of posts in the thread today!
Great to see Alberto get a stage win in Romandie, but unfortunately not being able to distance Porte means that the victory is highly improbably now
Just as a side note, I know my team isn't participating so it doesn't really matter to me, but is the Bayern Rundfahrt issue just being swept under the carpet?

Wait, Po-Ding not a favourite?
Also, @Luigi Hanzen is the stronger version of Brouwer. Plus, I find those '80 stats with lack of backup stats' worse.

What issue are you talking about Stromeon?
Hoping to get the Giro underway today
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Bayern is an older route, but I was assured there were no major changes. 4 sprints and a long TT seems to be accurate, looking at the 2013 results?

I think one of the stages was meant to be fairly hilly but I don't think it really matters that much, I was just wondering.

Well they're not pan flat either
Ok, I'll try to pay more attention to it, but any protest should probably have been made when the preview was posted.

Ollfardh.
With Norway, I will check if there are any differences between PCM11 Norway and 2013 IRL Norway. I shall inform you of the differences soon and we can see if the 2011 route is usable.
