I had a chat with KenL about this and there is a way of doing it but I think it takes a bit more database editing needed
Hopefully this can be looked into by someone.
Clearly the new equipment R&D feature makes customisation impossible in career mode, which is what all database teams will have cared about to date.
I would have thought that there must be a way to include custom equipment in single race mode - as the game must use some method to decide what each team uses there.

As i eluded to yesterday it IS POSSIBLE to have custom equipment in PCM14. The downside being that apparently it's a pain in the ass to add and get working. Someone with better DB knowledge than me can go into the details of how to do it

I have a bit different question, regarding the stat decreases between 2014 and 2015 seasons. I believe rider born 1982 and earlier should be affected for this offseason?
Also i was calculating decrease for Popovych last year and i failed and it the end his numbers were different to my calculations, so i am doing something wrong. Are the decrease rules same as in 2013 season? as i struggle to find more recent increase/decrese file...
Popovych is now 77,06 average and 7 potential, does it lead to these decreases? Thanks in advance for clarification...

I have similar queries to Avin re: exactly how decline with age is applied, a couple of definitive worked examples for different ages would certainly help. Happy for Kolobnev (potential 6) to be used as an example for riders born 1981!

Edit: My main confusion is whether you use the decline in the stat gain file issued this year and apply year of birth, or if I have to 'falsely' apply the extra year when applying the file

I am not too sure but seeing he is born in 1980 I think this is his decrease line, which is far better than yours actually.
Flat | Mountain | Hill | TT | Stamina | Resistance | Recovery | Cobbles | Sprint | Acc. | Fighter | Downhill | Prologue | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 3 | 3 | 3 | 2 | 2 | 3 | 2 | 2 | 2 |
The decrease is at the end of the statgains file btw.
Then check for the correct year of birth and potential.

So age have some factor in how much he will decline? I thought that 77/78-81 columns in 2013 decrease file (not sure if there is newer) are averages, or are these years when they were born?

Year of birth, not averages. So this season riders from 1982 and earlier will decline and those from 1977 will retire, I think. |

Thanks Roturn, so i was fooled the whole time.
There is no legend in that file, so i supposed that it is average and not year of birth.
But good news , Popovych will not suck so much next year.

Indeed it's very much possible to add equipment to PCM 14, but it's reallly complex and this is why I will telll you how All equipment in a database is shown in sta_brand and by this it's possible to add all the equipment you like to get added! But you'll need several ID's connected around the entire database for it to work and let's see how it's done
1. Open sta_brand and here's how every column works :
IDbrand the ID must not be shared by another in this table
gene_sz_name Name of the Equipment
fkIDbrandtype There is Wheels, Frames , Gear, Helmets and Glasses
fkIDbrand_link This option is used when you want to connect a frame to a wheel, just give the ID of the wheel/frame in sta_brand
value_f_pts leave at 0
fkIDcountry_main Country of the original company behind the equipment, find the ID in sta_country
fkIDcountry_secondary If there is a second nationality for the equipment designer
Cyclist Type Makes the equipment only available to a specific rider type, leave blank
The last 3 column's need 0 to be added.
2. You've now added the equipment, now it's time to link it from the folders
For this you need to open sta_equipment_template and sta_equipment_model and the template table is used for the stats and which type the equipment is for.
3. Now let's go into sta_equipment_model :
IDequipment_model ID for the model, which can't have the same ID as any other in the table
fkIDequipment_marque the ID of the equipment in sta_brand
fkIDequipment_template the ID of the template for the equipment found in sta_equipment_template and here you have to select the template, which gives the equipment the right info in the game
You can find out what the equipment is for / it's type and f.e under CONSTANT there is a template called mountain, so therefore the equipment will be fitting for the mountains, NOTE : you can't edit this table
gene_sz_name name of the series in the brand f.e
gene_sz_asset the base abbreviation for the equipment, the link to the 3D/Cyclist/Equipments files
gene_IDphoto 0
value_i_version 1
value_i_default 23
value_i_lastyear_up 2010
Now the equipment show work, but it's best that you can compare to the other equipment already there and see how f.e the abbreviations are working

Seeing as my version of the DB doesn't seem to want to update Average or Race Days for me would somebody be kind enough to fill out that missing information in the table I've put in the spoiler.
These are the stats all my riders gaining a level should end up with next season, assuming I've done the calculation properly, and it would be helpful to have the missing columns filled in so I can work out who will need loaning out next year regardless of which division I end up in and which division I'd need them to be loaned to.

With resistance working again next season, won't the average formula change? Just pointing it out as I know for Elissonde when you add resistance he loses a fair few racedays, and I know other riders will be similar. |

It should, and it will change anyway if we slightly reduce the calendar.
Still I agree that it's valid to have estimates or at least a way to roughly plan 2015 with the 2014 calendar.

There you go.

As I said and jph pointed out, neither the formula nor the resulting RD nor the calendar will look exactly the same next season.
RES will probably be added just as any secondary stat to be counted x1 if it's among the best 3 stats that aren't the best main stat, x0.5 if it's the fourth best.
That would mean in this case
#1 stays
#2 irrelevant increase
#3 irrelevant increase
#4 irrelevant increase
#5 irrelevant increase
#6 irrelevant increase
#7 irrelevant increase
#8 irrelevant increase
#9 stays
#10 irrelevant increase

Thanks Cio, that's really appreciated, now to work out their possible XP gains for if I stay CT or promote to PCT to see how many will need loaning out.
